Hey Guys,

Only 9 more business days until my second 60 day period is up with the NVC. They have made me wait almost the 2 months now to review the corrected form. Someone did ask a while back who had an attorney. I had one and received a RFE from USCIS due to missing passport pic, which was sent and lost by USCIS according to my attorney of course.

The stupidest checklist from NVC, a 1 missing where you state total number of applicants you are sponsoring in the AOS form. I know my day is coming, patiently waiting, but yeah, I wouldn't recommend using an attorney. It was definitely a waste of my money. Had I done it myself, I could have perfectly avoided the RFE and the checklist, which in total would have saved me 3-4 months.

I am hoping for an interview in April and will be traveling in May, God first.

Thanks for all the support, will keep you guys updated.

Once you're done with this process, if there's anyway you can review the law firm or something, I would do it and try to save other people the hassle. It's awful that they are quick to take your money but then don't take the paperwork seriously. Sorry that happened to you.

We've had our Case Complete at NVC since 1/30 but don't have an interview date still. I hope Cairo wakes up and tells us our date this week.

Well, there was a bit of good news yesterday: at day 71 after checklist scan date, we now have the mythical third N/A on our CEAC account! A true sight for sore eyes: barring something majorly out of order, that should equal a CC and the end of the NVC for us.

Hopefully the embassy in Paris is doing OK and we can get an interview date before the end of days.:)

I-130 mailed: 03/10/14 (from France to Chicago Lockbox)

I-130 received: 03/12/14 (this is also our priority date)

NOA1 email: 03/16/14 (email sent at 11:40 pm on Sunday!?!)

NOA1 letter: 03/30/14

I-797C: 03/21/14

NOA2 email: 08/09/14 (email sent at 5:45 am on Saturday!?!)

NOA2 letter: 08/13/14

Sent to NVC: 08/19/14 (email notification)

NVC receipt: 09/08/14 (confirmed by phone call)

NVC case #: 09/11/14 (received via email with NVC welcome letter as attachment)

DS-261 done: 09/12/14

--AOS invoice: 09/17/14 (notice via email)

--Invoice paid: 09/18/14

--accepted: 10/1/14 (notice via email)
IV invoice: 10/1/14 (same email)
IV fee paid: 10/4/14
--accepted: 10/8/14 (status changed to "paid" on NVC website)
DS-260 done: 10/9/14
AOS/IV docs
sent: 10/13/14
AOS/IV docs
signed for: 10/17/14
confirmation
email received: 10/18/14 (this email said there will be a 60 day wait before my docs are reviewed)
checklist: 12/11/14 (i864, section 5, one error: "you must enter "1" for yourself...")
New i864 mailed: 12/14/14
Received: 12/18/14 (email notification 12/22/14, with another 60-day warning)
Third N/A: 3/2/15
NVC case
complete: 3/2/15 (confirmed on call to NVC 3/4/15; email received 3/9/15)
Interview date: 4/1/15 (assigned 3/11/15)
APPROVED!!! CEAC status changed to "Issued" on 4/2/15.
Visa and POE
papers in-hand: 4/12/15
POE: 4/16/15 in Minneapolis. Kept my wife and our three-Y.O. waiting in a windowless room with no toilet access for over an hour, then let them through without asking any questions.
But whatever: it's over!!!!! 13 months and 3 days from original priority date.
Green card: Accompanying docs stamped 6/16, but the card did not arrive until 7/2 (approx. 11 weeks after POE).
Now it's really over. Thank you so much to all of you at VJ who helped us through this ordeal.

Hello everyone, I thought it would be still possible to join this forum. I know how much support forums can be!

We applied in March 2014 too, and our i-130 got approved on 15 December 2014. We are still waiting to hear from NVC. Does anyone knows if this is normal time for waiting? And is there a way to check in online for the status on the NVC website?

That seems like a long time to hear from the NVC, Usually 4 to 6 weeks. You can't check online until you have an NVC case number. You need to call the NVC (603) 334-0700... It is a pain to call, usually busy. you just need to keep hanging up and calling back over and over until you get through. I did it for 30 minutes once, plus once you get through there is a 20-45 minute hold time. Those are the least and most minutes I was on hold with them.

I would call NVC and get your case number and invoice ID number so you can pay the fee

Thank you guys, I thought it was a long time myself. I've been reading other threads and I was thinking that I could wait until 12 weeks have passed. The other thing is that we hired a lawyer, and if we were to contact NVC in our own, that would create some conflict. Isn't our lawyer supposed to received the case number, or would it be us? I would be terrified if our case got delayed even more if I call to get the receipt number. Our lawyer isn't very communicative I have to say, and it takes months to reply to our questions. I guess that's why I came here, to easy our worry! (F)

We have a lawyer too, only because my husband will require a waiver.

Your lawyer should be receiving (if they haven't already) an email with the info and forward it to you. But it won't delay your case to be proactive since your lawyer isn't being responsive. Also, does your case really require a lawyer? Most of this stuff you can do yourself through VJ.

I was wondering about that, thanks for clarifying! We also hired a lawyer because my situation could required a waiver, although we are still unsure whether we will or not, but to be safe. Tomorrow we hit the 11th week, so if we don't hear anything by next Thursday, I will be calling them!

Hi Everyone!

Congrats to everybody who is getting some sort of answer. :)

I have a question. My husband(American citizen) is with me right now, in Turkey. We just got our noa1 approval. It took 11 months and all this time we were back and forth in Turkey and in Brazil. (He is also brazilian). Now we are waiting the NVC package to arrive. I know he has to go back and enter US before my interview. But when is that exactly? Everything is so unsure. We don't know what to do. :( would it be a problem if he stays with me here ? We are doing our taxes together and this is from the money I made working in Turkey and the money he made working in Brazil.

I would appreciate a lot if anybody can give me any suggestions. :(

Hello!

I am not sure how much of a help I can be! But I thought I just say, that we started paying taxes as married just last year, although we have been together for almost 15 years. And as long as you can keep track of all of your expenses it shouldn't be a problem. Do you have a tax ID yourself? I applied for one, even though I am not living in the Estates yet. We are still waiting to hear from NVC, so stay positive and everything will be fine! I am sure others here can answer more than I can.

Hey guys.

Quick question. Do you all know whether its mandatory for the US Spouse to live and work there? My husband is struggling overthere alone. Im the head of the house and he's considering coming back to wait it out here with me. Were still at thr NVC stage. We have a stable co-sponsor in the US as well. My question is. Can both of us be abroad at the time the visa is issued?

Thanks.
