Nope, it just says this "Your case can not be found at this time in My Case Status. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, please call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283."

Should I call NCSC

Sometimes it takes couple of days to show up. Wait to the Noa 1 hard copy, there instruction is wait to the hard copy before you check it online.

My NOA1 email specifically suggested that I wait until the hard copy arrives to open my online account with the USCIS. That's what I did, and the day the hard copy got here the system recognised our application.

That also gave me the opportunity to turn on email alerts. Haven't had one yet, but here's to waiting and hoping!

I-130 mailed: 03/10/14 (from France to Chicago Lockbox)

I-130 received: 03/12/14 (this is also our priority date)

NOA1 email: 03/16/14 (email sent at 11:40 pm on Sunday!?!)

NOA1 letter: 03/30/14

I-797C: 03/21/14

NOA2 email: 08/09/14 (email sent at 5:45 am on Saturday!?!)

NOA2 letter: 08/13/14

Sent to NVC: 08/19/14 (email notification)

NVC receipt: 09/08/14 (confirmed by phone call)

NVC case #: 09/11/14 (received via email with NVC welcome letter as attachment)

DS-261 done: 09/12/14

--Invoice paid: 09/18/14

--accepted: 10/1/14 (notice via email)
IV invoice: 10/1/14 (same email)
IV fee paid: 10/4/14

checklist: 12/11/14 (i864, section 5, one error: "you must enter "1" for yourself...")
New i864 mailed: 12/14/14
Received: 12/18/14 (email notification 12/22/14, with another 60-day warning)
Third N/A: 3/2/15
NVC case
complete: 3/2/15 (confirmed on call to NVC 3/4/15; email received 3/9/15)
Interview date: 4/1/15 (assigned 3/11/15)
APPROVED!!! CEAC status changed to "Issued" on 4/2/15.
Visa and POE
papers in-hand: 4/12/15
POE: 4/16/15 in Minneapolis. Kept my wife and our three-Y.O. waiting in a windowless room with no toilet access for over an hour, then let them through without asking any questions.
But whatever: it's over!!!!! 13 months and 3 days from original priority date.
Green card: Accompanying docs stamped 6/16, but the card did not arrive until 7/2 (approx. 11 weeks after POE).
Now it's really over. Thank you so much to all of you at VJ who helped us through this ordeal.

Hi, just joined. I was hoping to file in February, but it took one whole month to send to my parents.I am currently living with my husband in Hungary for the past two years. I sent my package to my parents in the US so they can but a check for me since I have no bank accounts in the state. I will be moving back before this process is over anyway. I do not know if it is beneficial to send from overseas rather than from the US. I am sure it is not a huge difference.

So, my parents sent the package March 3rd, and they received March 4th. I received the email March 7. My hard copy went to the US. My parents did not tell me when they received it, but I was able to access USCIS with my number exactly a week after.

From what I've read so far in this forum is that, If you had filed from your spouse's country while living, you application would have been expediated from the beginning. You could have had your case approved within 3-5months.

I wish I had known this earlier as well because I stayed with my wife for 5months then came back to U.S., only If I had stayed one more month then filed. My case would have been much faster. :( Now I have to wait almost close to 10-12months to be with my wife and that's If everything goes smoothly and without any delays. Maybe for you it doesn't matter because you already been living with your SO for the past two years.

For now all I do is browse these forums everyday at work, even though I know first 5 months nothing will change.

Anyway, Good Luck! to all of us.

Well, that is really frustrating to hear now.

When I was first putting my package together in December, I was googling of course everything on visas and I read somewhere that it used to be faster, but now it is about the same. Apparently, that person was mistaken if this is true.

Since I started browsing this visa journey website, I have noticed people filing from overseas having faster processing times now.

Back when I was deciding which one to do, I settled on sending package to parents since I figured sending the package is safer than sending a check or money order from my parents to here.

If i knew how long visas take and these ridiculous procedures, I would have married him a lot earlier in these two years I have lived here than waiting until a closer time when I am leaving. I am just leaving in August, and we expect to be apart. I just hope it is not later than November that all this nonsense is done with.

Ha! that's the exact frustation I felt after I read this forum that I could have done this the other and have the case be done with couple of months. I spent the most memorable 5months with my wife and family, now this long distance and wait is much harder on both of us, since I can't really focus on work that much. I doubt your case would be done by november. Maybe 2/3 of it. But anyhow your wait will be much shorter and you should be with your SO in couple of months after you get back.

Either way Good Luck! :) and enjoy time your time there for now.

From what I can tell, that's not true anymore. There was a period in 2012 or so--you can be more precise if you can find the very specific and detailed thread on the subject, which I can't seem to find right now--when dossiers filed from abroad were flying through the USCIS, but it seems to have stopped almost completely (except for expedited cases relating to natural disasters, etc.).

Nothing to be frustrated about there, except the fact of having waited a couple years too long to file.:)

Through my research and observations Shikimo is right. There was a trend a couple of years back but it doesnt seem to be the case now. However, we filed our petition from Canada (not that far abroad, but international nonetheless). Keeping our fingers crossed that there might still be a slim chance to get expedited. Oh and we received our NOA1 in the mail and had access to our case status online exactly 5 days after getting the email notification. Bring on NOA2!
