If your coming to sightsee then let them know of all the places you desire to visit. Have knowledge of the locale. Example, if you're going to the Disney Theme Parks. You should be able to say if you're going to Disneyland in California or Disneyworld in Florida. So sit down and think of all the places u and your family want to see. Then research.

You don't need a reason to be a tourist. People travel all over the globe just because they can. You're free to travel anyplace that will let you have a visa to go there... the question is whether you have enough ties to your home for them to GIVE you that invaluable piece of paper. Who wouldn't want to see the Grand Canyon and Niagara Falls and Disneyland and all that other good touristy stuff that just happens to be located in North America?

Hey pals, pls wat are the likely questions at d port of entry?

"Hi, how are you doing?"

"Why are you coming to the US?"

"Oh, that's nice. How long are you staying in the US?"

"Do you have anything illegal on you?"

"What are your plans when in the US?"

"Where will you stay?"

"Have you any interesting plans while in the US?"

"How will you pay for your stay here in the US?"

"Have you been in the US before?"

"What will you see while I the US?"

"Where do you live?"

"How was the flight?"

"Where did you fly in from?"

"What is your favorite color?"

"What is the air speed of a swallow?"

Notice that they tend to ask the same question in different ways. This is a ploy used to trip up people who lie. Also the idle chit-chat is not idle at all. It is to vet out any information and to determine if you should be allowed to enter the US. Just remember that unless you hold a blue passport with the letters "U" and "S" on it, you CAN be turned away--this is rare, but it CAN happen if the CBP thinks you are going to overstay your visa by the answers given.

What is your citizenship?

Where do you live?

Do you work or go to school?

Who are you going to visit?

How do you know this person?

Do you know anyone else in the US?

Where are you going?

Where are you staying?

How long are you staying?

Do you have a return ticket?

What day will you leave?

Etc.

Answer all questions politely and concisely. Don't ramble on just give the quickest and most precise answer. Only answer what they ask you. If you have any paperwork with you only show them what they ask to see. Stay calm and collected. Most of all polite.

Tnkz a million pals, I realy apreciate. Buh pls is it advisable to let knw you have other relatives in the US apart from the person you are visiting?

If they ask you tell them. If they don't ask don't bother saying anything.

Like I said only answer what is asked of you.

You don't have to. Just answer what you are asked, and don't lie.

If they ask if you have any other relatives in the US, the answer is "yes."

However, you don't have to say "yes, I have 5 sisters, 15 cousins and 3 parents."

I really don't understand what you're asking here.

Who is your host, and why would you be living with them... do you mean just staying there while attending the interview?

If you have an offer to stay at someone's place while travelling for the interview, rather than renting a hotel room, why wouldn't you accept that?

If the question that you're asking is something else, please clarify:)

Beneficiary - Applying for CR1/IR1 (but also played the K3 card prior to understanding it may be phased out.)

2013: July 20: I-130 sent (Chicago lockbox)

July 24: I-130 NOA1

July 24: I-129F sent (Dallas Lockbox)

Aug 2: I-129F NOA1

Aug 12: Alien Registration Number was changed, I-129F.

2014: Jan 28/29/30: - 3 transfer notices for I-130 and I-129F.

Feb 3 - Hard copy arrived -Notice of transfer to Texas stating Jan 29th.

Feb 10 - NOA2

Feb 27 - email stating I-130 being sent to NVC from TSC.

March 6 -NVC received our case.

April 7 - CASE NUMBER yay! IIN and BIN obtained and email given.

April 9 - DS261 available and filled in online.

April 9 - AOS not yet payable but visible.

April 10 - email regarding NVC case number and access to DS261 received/ email regarding AOS received and paid.

April 11 - AOS sent by snail mail.

April 14 - AOS arrived per mail tracking.

April 15 - IV bill received via email, IV bill paid/ in process, IV package sent.

April 18 - IV bill showing paid/ DS-260 available and done!

- AOS scanned into their system.

April 21 - IV package arrived per mail tracking.

April 24 - IV scanned into their system.

May 2 - False checklist for IV documents= AOS approval.

May 13 - NVC rep reported ? missing Police certificate via my phone call.

- Supervisor review initiated.

May 14 - Checklist for Police certificate came via email.

- Sent checklisted documentation priority post!

May 15 - Package delivered per mail tracking.

May 19 - Case COMPLETE!! Police certificate found by NVC:)

May 28 - Case complete email arrived.

May 30 - Assigned Interview date!

June 2 - Interview letter arrived via email.

June 11- Medical appointment Surrey, BC

July 8 - Interview in Montreal!! APPROVED!!!!!!!! July 10 - Visa package and passport in hand!! July 23 - POE!!
