Hello there! I need help, suggestions, opinions everyone. My daughter and I will have our interview on March 24 and hoping we get approved. We will have our CFO Seminar the next day but I am worried, if it's possible for us to get the CFO Seminar without our passport? I was thinking maybe I will just bring the bio copy of our passport.

Please I need some advice, would greatly appreciated. Thanks! Kaye

You can have a seminar without your passportbut you need to come back when you received your passport because they will put sticker on it. Better if you just wait to have your passport with you so you dont need to come back. But there is cfo office inside the airport, they told me you can get the sticker there just show the receipt. Pero mas mganda mging sure n din, just wait for your passpport. Kalahating araw lang naman un.

Hi there malenliam, thanks, for replying. Naka base kasi kami sa Davao, will be in Manila on Sunday afternoon for our interview. So plano k. o nga mag attend ng seminar kinabukasan after ng interview namin, not sure kung half day lang yon kasi I have read some reviews regarding CFO merong naka experience to get their seminar done for 2 days. We will be in Manila until March 27, do you think ok lang talaga kaming mag seminar ng anak ko without our passport?

Passport is one of the requirements in registering for the CFO seminar. http://www.cfo.gov.ph/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=1348:fiancee-spouses-and-other-partners-of-foreign-nationals&catid=140#ThirdA

Maybe best to just come back when you have the passport back with visa, sis. Haven't heard yet of an experience when somebody was allowed to attend the seminar without the passport itself. Just to be sure, you might want to call CFO: (02) 552-4700

Registration is for getting the sticker. Requirements for attending the seminar are in the section right above that.

That's awesome, Hank! I was misinformed then. laughing.gif

To OP, emphasis on Hank's post. I guess you just have to bring 2 valid IDs with pictures for the seminar. good.gif

Yes you can attend CFO without an interview date. For information on CFO following the flashing arrow below this post, then click on the CFO tab.

How to get passport into married name, thanks

http://www.passport.com.ph/info/requirements/for/renewal

For spouse of foreign national who would like to use their married surname:
  • Marriage Contract (MC) in Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the National Statistics Office (NSO) or Certified True Copy (CTC) of MC issued by the Local Civil Registrar (LCR) and duly authenticated by NSO. Transcribed Marriage Contract from the LCR is required when entries in NSO Marriage Contract are blurred or unreadable.
  • Report of Marriage duly authenticated by NSO if married abroad
  • Original and photocopy of Commission of Filipino Overseas (CFO) Guidance and Counseling Certificate of Attendance (required for first time applicants or renewal of passport to be used for the first time the surname of the husband)
