Request ROC to be Expedited

So I'm preparing my ROC package to be sent off March 24th and was wondering if it's possible to request my ROC to be expedited? Here is the reason why, my husband and I will be PCSing the end of June. We do not have a hard copy yet for these orders but we do know where we are PCSing to. As you know the immigration process is stressful enough but to top it all off with having to move, live in lodging for 3-6months while waiting for housing (that's the current time frame for housing availability at our new post) and not having an actual address to have mail delivered to is just beyond stressful. I know it's probably highly unlikely that it will speed up the process significantly but do you think it's worth a try? I just don't want any correspondence from USCIS to get lost in the mail.... I don't even know if any of what I said makes sense, I'm just so stressed out with everything happening all at once! Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated! TIA

Yes, my husband has been selected for OCONUS orders to HI. However he has not yet received the "HardCopy" orders yet... We should be receiving them any time now! I have already sent off my ROC and requested it to be expedited, I figure the worst they could say was no. I had no idea that I could skip ROC if my husband had OCONUS orders! Edited by CourtneyRox

In case an expedite is not granted, I just wanted to let you know that I moved during the ROC process 2x and I still got my GC. Just lots of double and triple checking to make sure they have the right address. Goodluck! :)

My Journey:

We met through a study-abroad program in Shanghai, China in August of 2009

We got engaged March of 2010

I received my K1 VISA in 6 months (June-December 2010)

We were married 04/02/2011
I received my conditional 2-year greencard (AOS) in 2.5 months with no interview (April-June 2011)

Our son was born 02/03/2013

I received my masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology 04/17/2013

I received my 10-year greencard (ROC) in 3 months with no interview (March-June 2013)

My husband returned from deployment 06/20/2013

My naturalization journey took 4 months (April-August 2014)

I became a US citizen on 08/01/2014

Received passport in 3 weeks (regular processing)

Thank you, VJ! smile.png

Hi! We will probably be moving to HI in the end of June as well! Are you moving to Ft. Shafter? I was looking at the off post housing situation there and seems like most places are expensive..was excited about moving to the island but now started to worry : /

We will be living on Kbay! We looked into living off post but way too expensive! We will try to live in 802 housing so that we can save money because they don't take all of our BHA! It's old housing but I figure we will be enjoying the out doors more so it won't matter too much.... Plus I'm a clean freak so even if it's not pretty it will be clean and I'm sure a bit of paint an decor will help too! We are very excited and waiting patiently for his hard copy orders :)

Just an FYI- while Hawaii is considered OCONUS for the military, I don't think it is considered OCONUS for USCIS and in this case for the (319(b). The reason is because there is a USCIS office in Honolulu. I know someone trying the same thing before they leave for Alaska (also considered a military OCONUS destination) but there is an office in Anchorage. Pretty sure the 319 won't work.

I can't speak to a straight up ROC expedite since I didn't do that- but the 319b means you go straight to citizenship as soon as you AOS and you have overseas orders.
