Ok... my hubby is going for his CR/1 on Jan. 25th in Lagos,Nigeria...I am sending him the original passport that I traveled to Nigeria, a copy of my new passport with my name change, phone bills, bank statements(to proove that this is not about money), pictures of us giving each other tounge :P . Some utility bills that have his name on it, a letter from me telling him that once he gets here his name will go on all the bills, letter from my pastor showing his support to counsel us through our marriage upon hubby arriving, post marriage correspondence, and the letters that members of his family wrote to me.

He has got the marriage certificate and other things as well in his possession.

Question: Are we missing anything? I don't know any more evidence that can proove that our relationship is valid. (Maybe the CO should see the tape of us having sex so there is no doubt we are married.....just kidding!!! We have no sex tape! )

P.S. He has to have another medical test for the CR1 according to the packet the sent me as agent. Does anyone know if he has to repeat the injections for this one too? He had a complete medical test for the K-3 in September.

i would be worried about sending ur passports. do u really have to send the origionals or would just making copies work ok?

my best friend lived in nigeria for 20 years and said there is alot of fraud there so i would be afraid my passport would get intersepeted and sold.

The passport has been cancelled. There is no way someone could duplicate it. When I got my new one the Passport folks stamped holes in it. SO there is no wayit can be used

i have to agree with donnaal. Nigeria is a country with very HIGH FRAUD!!! If ANYONE knows how to make use of that passport, it WOULD be a NIGERIAN. WHATEVER you do; DO NOT SEND that passport; rather it be cancelled or not. That is something you do not want to do. I'm giving you this advice per my husband and a few of his Naija friends. DO NOT SEND THAT PASSPORT there!!!! Girl, do u realize that the mail system there is just as worst. Even if you send it DHL or FEDEX, you are DEFINITELY TAKING A RISK!!! B-4 you get the wrong idea, Im not stating that your husband would use it against you, but it's a possibility that it could end up in the hands of someone who would. Do you realize what a USA passport means in Nigeria? Ask you husband or any other Naija about it!!!!

I have sent a photo copy of my passport in Nigeria because I did not have the copy of my previous tickets I used to go to Nigeria with. Would that be a threat to my life in any way? I had used it for my husband to ne able to get visa for the CO. I was asked to get phone records, & a coloured photo copy of my passport. Well, I am thinking of purchasing a new passport ASAP if this will be a problem because my husband and I are coming home together in May.

Its okay to send a copy of the passport but I would not send the booklet be it cancelled or not. Fraud is Fraud. Its kind of hard to commit Fraud with a photocopy and try to pass it off as an original.

If you have ID in another name, I would recommend that you get the passport name changed or the IDs.
