Question about birth certificate for NVC

Hi there,

I have a question about our IR1/CR1 visa... I haven't contacted NVC yet directly, this question just came about today. I know it's the busiest time of day at NVC so I thought I'd ask about on here to see if anyone could help while I wait for the slower hours.

My husband (in England) is collecting supporting documents for his DS-260 visa application packet for NVC, but his english birth certificate doesn't have his father's name on it. He doesn't know who his father is and his mother has not talked to his father since before my husband was born. (His father was out of the picture before my husband was born.) Also, my husband has never asked his mother about the name of his father as he does not even want to know who he is... On my husband's birth certificate, the "father" box is blank. When we applied with USCIS, we told them he didn't know who his father was, and they never questioned it, but the travel.state.gov website asks for a birth certificate with BOTH parents' names on it.

Does anyone know if there is a way to carry on without his father being on the birth certificate? They have no way to contact him as it's been 21+ years anyway.

Thanks to anyone who has read.

:)

don't worry about it... they wouldn't question it... he is not a minor that NVC will be concerned of or even he is a minor as long as the father's name isn't there and didn't signed any of the BC then he is fine

He is 21; his father has never had anything to do with any of the visa process. (Or any part of his life for that matter.) Thanks for the quick reply. :)
