An incident at a Texas high school is under investigation after a cellphone video appears to show the moment when a student’s arm was broken after he was brought to the ground by police during a fight. And the audio is as much a part of the story as the video.

The video picks up with the fight already in progress.

I try to give cops the benefit of the doubt.... but what the F was that cop doing? I thought he was just trying to cuff him but that was just wrong.

I kind of wish I hadn't watched the video. I'm definitely glad I had the sound off.

I thought the same thing. Without watching the video, I thought his arm gave out under the pressure of trying to be handcuffed. But it's obvious he was trying to break his arm.

if you replay it w/ sound. you can hear his elbow snap/rip.

honestly, it looks like he was just trying to restrain & cuff the kid. but, the other officers weight & body position on the kids back put the stress on the elbow instead of the shoulder.

I see something else. At the :15 second mark, the kid's arm is already behind his back. That cop had to bring it out of position in order to do that move.

hmm. the :15 mark is where I see the first cop bear her weight down & start rolling the kid towards the left. that combined with the upward crank of the second cop puts the stress on the weaker joint. with no one on his back that move should have put the stress on his shoulder.

it doesn't matter. the kids arm is F'd.

I'm not going to watch it again in order to find the time; but everything looked okay until he just took the arm towards the kid's head. That was just wrong.

All day and twice on Sunday.

That was my observation.

I guess I will be the unlikely person in this thread to say that the knucklehead shouldn't have resisted. He didn't deserve to have his arm broke, that sucks BUT he was pulling away from the female officer and not complying.

Resist cops, don't comply with their orders, scuffle with them or flee there is a 99.9% chance you will catch a beat down!

Yes, FL would be a good bet. One of the few places that might be as nutty or even nuttier than Texas.

Awwwww, they took down the video. I'm gonna just say I agree with b_j since I usually do.

And mbd, stop generalizing all of Texas based on one video. It's dumb.
