I got my cace num from NVC thise morning i ask the lady if i can make the first fees, she said i have to wait for instructions from them. Is that going to take forever again please what should i do your input is very appreciated.

I see you got approved on the 30th of January,you u re with a case number,well I have been approved since 23rd of January and I have never called NVC, may since u got a case number, maybe my case number is waiting for us once my wife travel back to the state this weekend, she would start calling NVC

Not calling NVC and waiting for them to email you the instructions delays you 2 to 4 months depending how fast they will do this. People who call are usually at least 1 to 2 months ahead of every.

You do not have to wait for your wife to call you can call NVC yourself and get the information and start the ball rolling.

here why not read the NVC filers thread and get your documents together. I would not get your police report for 9ja until you have case# since the report is only good for 3 months.

Dwheels76 I think you re right, we better start call NVC now,I thought they would only talk or give the case number to the petitional, well after all my wife is going this sunday,and yeah I went ahead and did a police report without a case number at hand,and why did it was bcos, since they need the oringnal, now if this one I did this month expires,i do I send her another one?

As long as its not expired when you send to NVC. Everyone for Lagos has to get a new one for interview. Heck I know some who had to get 2 and through through their long NVC process.

But NVC welcomes Beneficiary. Just need Date of Birth and full name of you and your wife your receipt# at USCIS and there you go. Once you get Case# they ask for you and your wife's email address. That will be how you communicate with NVC.

NVC Received the Package from USCIS 04MAR14

I've been calling every other day to get my Case Number

NVC kept tellling me it would take up to 20 days for them to enter it into their system.

But when I called them yesterday, they said up to 30 Days.

I didn't think it took this long at NVC. Is this normal or just my bad luck?

I've made two trips to Mexico, One to Vietnam, Three to Russia all to spend time with my wife. This can be very expensive.

I was hoping to be together before our April 6th anniversary. Doesn't look Good at the moment.

Last trip to Russia was a suprise trip for my wifes birthday.

During that trip we became future parents.

Now I'm hoping to be together to enjoy our pregnancy with her.

Also hoping the disagreements between our two countries won't complicate things.

We will be using the Moscow Embassy for interview. Not sure when that will be.

I pay my AOS payment today we are moving closer everyday, i pray he will be here before our 1st year anniversary. To those that are still waiting for their approval or case number from NVC i pray for divine speed on it.

The nvc has had my expedited petition since February 12th and I still have no case number. My husband had to miss most of my pregnancy, the birth of our son and pretty much the first few months...he could deploy at any moment and they are still taking their time.

but this is just so sad, the fact in 2014 we still have to call and wait 20 mins every other day, not to mention allocating all those wasted customer services answering the phone... to get a case number as oppose to check online or an automated phone or having it emailed to us as soon as it's available.

And the fact uscis has to paper mail nvc, and wait at least month for nvc to physically scan the documents in, instead of communicate between the two agencies electronically via common api to complete this near instantly.

Just thinking of how straightforward it is to create a system to send your case file electronically from uscis to nvc, generate a case number, then notify the users..instead of the pain and time wasted by everyone, makes me angry. Especially considering the amount of money we have to pay for the applications to both uscis and nvc, that those people cannot be bothered to make our lives just a little easier.
