Filing I 129F for wife, anyone else done this already? Help needed!!

I am filing an I 129F for my wife. We already have our receipt of application from the I 130. We are just slightly confused as the form is all based on a fiancé and the instruction form is all related to a fiancé too. So confused as to what info we actually have to include in the pack

Back ground info

Both live in UK now, I am a US citizen from birth, been married for almost 6 years, have 2 children who already have their US passports. We are wanting to move to the US permanently and ASAP

You DO NOT file an 1-129F for a spouse. That is ONLY for a fiance.

The I129F is filed with the receipt of the I130 to follow the K-3 path for married peoples

OP - it is a waste of time. don't bother with it. I assume you have filed an I130 for any children or have their CRBA right?

We were advised by USCIS over the phone to file an I 129F after receiving the receipt of I 130 as they are usually quicker than the I 130. You can definitely file this form even if married if you read the paper work correctly. My children don't need an I 130 as they are already US citizens, they have their passports

USCIS is called here on VJ as the 'mis information line'

Do some research, the K-3 has been obsolete for many years

We filed us Chicago lockbox as this is what we were advised by USCIS . Let me guess would have been quicker to file with London

We have contacted USCIS to see if we can get it transfered to the London office. Not holding our breath tho. Can't believe they told usto file it in the US. Wish I'd found this site earlier, the whole thing is confusing, stressful and frustrating!!!

I dont know if they'd transfer it abroad. You may have to refile. Make sure you qualify first.

The K3 IS still a feasible option! Let's see what happens to those of us who have filed the K3 along with the 130. There are a few of us now waiting, it will be a guide as to just how obselete the K3 really is. I've already been told by the embassy to go for my medical prior to the K3 interview. Why would they let it go that far if they know it will be closed? I imagine that if it was NOT going to be an option they would have informed us when it was sent there from the NVC. My advice to those of you who are considering filing a K3 is wait and see. It can be filed any time after the i797, NOA1, has been received after filing the 130.

If the OP and spouse are able to file DCF that is the quickest route period.
