Yeah the difference in my posts and yours is that my posts are #1 on TOPIC. Your post has nothing to do with the topic. Your post was more about who YOU are and what YOU think. That article you posted is a hoax and you cannot show me 1 historical record where that event is recorded other than this nobody in Australia happens to discover there was a coverup of a mutiny. If this was even remotely true, it most definitely would not have been a coverup - it would have been used to further White supremacist propaganda that Black people can't serve in the armed forces because they are undisciplined, lazy, or somehow inferior to their White counterparts.

You attempt to pass this hoax article off as "Black history" , your own words - how about that is a subject that I am 99.9% certain you have little knowledge or education about.

I did not call you any names, made no TOS violation - but I'm sure you know all about that by now huh?

Like I said Blacks have served, fought, and died in every single major war or conflict in this nations history predominantly serving in segregated units.

Here is the logic behind your post:

Blacks played menial roles - > less combatants -> less chance at awards -> racism has nothing to do with it.

When in fact considering the time periods we are talking about, it wouldn't have matter if 80% of the men serving in combat roles during WW2 were Black, they wouldn't have received any honors. The entire premise of the ceremony and late honors is to attempt to correct a historical wrong. Your racial bias cannot stomach that so you go off tangent with some bogus article to try and discredit a group of people who had more courage, dignity, and honor than anything you could ever muster up.

So your contention is that ABC was not only spoofed but they are so arrogant they leave the story up?

Here is another one that is in on the effort to create fake Black history.

OMG, there appears to be a PANDEMIC EFFORT to spread this false story... why even Wiki is in on the hoax.

World War II[edit]

An Australian historian claims to have uncovered information that in 1942 96th Engineer Battalion, an African-American battalion stationed in Townsville, Australia, mutinied in response to racial discrimination, firing 700 machine-gun rounds into occupied tents of white officers. [2][3]

In 1944, a large number of African-Americans refused to load munitions after hundreds of their fellow African-American soldiers were killed in the Port Chicago disaster. The soldiers were charged with mutiny and given jail sentences that were later reduced.

In 1945, the Freeman Field Mutiny, was a series of incidents at Freeman Army Airfield, a United States Army Air Forces base near Seymour, Indiana, in 1945 in which African American members of the 477th Bombardment Group attempted to integrate an all-white officers' club. The mutiny resulted in 162 separate arrests of black officers, some of them twice.

Other notable African-American mutinies of World War II include those at Dale Mabry Field,[4]Fort Bragg, Camp Robinson, Camp Davis, Camp Lee, and Fort Dix, among others.[5] Black soldiers fired on white soldiers in mutinies at Camp Claiborne and Brookley Air Force Base.[6]

I never said racism had nothing to do with it. (Though I think you are misusing the term)
BUt what you are asking us to believe is people were less prejudiced a century ago when such awards were given out. (Blacks have been awarded 88 times)
Isn't it reasonable to believe it is a combination of things?
And that such an incident which seems so outragouse you can scarely believe it... might have had some impact on placement of troops?
Now I want to know if you are going to be big enough to admit I was right and you were wrong, the story is not a hoax?

ABC huh? Not the REAL ABC, but an Aussie news source. Best you got? Like I said in my original post, please show me 1......just 1 historical record of this alleged event outside of an Australian source. You can't because the story has no factual data to back up it's claims. Surely you can find just 1 US historical reference to that event. I can even play a Romney, and bet you $10,000 dollars to prove that the story is not a hoax.

If you don't mind me asking, what is your highest level of education? When it comes to academics you have to cross reference your "facts" and vet them out among several independent sources. And if you think wiki is 100% accurate or even a reliable source you are doing your brain a disservice. I give that WIKI article humorous credit though, it sources the very same articles by the person who wrote the story for ABC rofl.gif

Anyone can make a wiki and reference a source from any web page.

Australia has a crappy record when it comes to Civil Rights so the source does not surprise me.

You asked for a Historian, I gave you a historian and now you want more.

OK you don't accept it, thats fine.

Thanks to you, I dug into this story and realized a number of other such mutinies in the military... most I had not been aware of.

None will be on the black history programs.

Why? because "Black history" is not so much about history as it is about agenda. (Vilifying some, sanctifying others)

HISTORY is the retelling of what happened.... not only the good things that happened but also the mundane and unpleasant.

In the effort to tell those good things about black history which for too long had been over looked or blotted out we have gone to the extreme of blotting out anything thing negative in Black history.

Thats where I come in as a small counterbalance.

And I think we can all agree, balance is a good thing right?

And if I don't shoulder the burden, I am afraid it won't get done.
