When it comes to IR/1/CR-1, as far as I know, you do not mail your AOS in, but rather bring it to the interview. Am I correct? If that's the case, and assuming the interview will take place sometime after April 15th (U.S. Tax Day) - lets say in June, would 2010-2012 filing still be considered as the last 3 years, or a 2013 would be required at this point?

After April 15, 2013 taxes will be required.

One would think that, but what's really taken into consideration. Is it the fact you filed the petition a month or so before April 15, or the fact the interview will take place past the April 15 date?

I have read mixed things about this. I think it's really going to be up to the Embassy. I read that if you make way above the poverty line for the other years then not submitting 2013 is fine. I also read that if you apply before April then you don't need to include 2013.
