Hello

A quick question ...on the N400 (as on all forms) asks for employment and school for last 5 yrs... if I did not work for about 9 months and did not go to school... could they deny me?... is that why I did not recieve any notices yet?

You cannot be denied citizenship for not working. As long as you filed your taxes, you are fine.

They did not ask for mine... maybe it depends, or maybe that's an old requirement.

Thanks MJA... a friend called me today and told me that last he filed N4OO and they asked for his tax returns... do they still do that? Do I need to get them togther for the past 5 years?

Sandy

You may or may not be asked to show your past 5 year tax returns at the time of interview. But I would suggest to get them together and take it with you. You dont lose anything if the IO does not ask for it. But if you dont take them and IO asks for it, it will delay your case. People have mentioned being asked for documents during their interviews which were not listed in the interview letter. I have my interview in 3 days on 01/12/07 and I am taking more documents than asked but they have been asked from other people during their interviews; better safe than sorry.
