K! Fiance visa or

I wanted to ask which visa is the fastest and most convenient way to get my fiance in the US. She is a Chinese citizen 24 years old. Low income with no assets. I know it can be extremely difficult for a young Chinese woman to get into the US. I will leave back to the US for a least a few years and would really like to bring her with me. We are not sure if getting our marraige cerificate here in China before I leave will help her get into the US any faster. Or should we wait and just apply for the K1 visa and then get married in the US?

We've been together for a year and a half. Her English is great. She's got a bachelor's degree in English.

I would appreciate some help here.

Thanks,

Matt

Each has its benefits and drawbacks

The K-1 if faster but restricts travel and work when arriving.

The Cr-1 spousal visa will ensure she is a PR when she lands in the US, but takes longer

good luck

Hi, I am not an expert at all about this, but we are compiling documents for K-1 visa Just as you she is Chinese and if you read the FAQ and read again, and download the forms it all starts to make you understand that you need Birth certificates, and the rest of the document before you file the 129. Check and recheck--Proof of relationship, intent to marry letters are all available on this site and it will help you. Do not file till you have all documents.

Again, read what VJ has to pass along.

if you have 'been together for 18 months'

whilst you are living in China,

then it makes a lot of sense (to me)

for you two to marry in china,

then you file an I-130 via the Direct Consular Filing Process (skipping USCIS stateside)

then once the I-130 is approved in Guangzhou, is ok to scamper off back to the USA and she chase after a CR-1 visa with Guangzhou.

Figure 2 weeks to get married, having to chase docs on you that the marriage registry will accept,

then another week to get the marriage book translated into a white book,

then you can file the I-130...

IMO, DCF with an interview in Guangzhou is superior to anything else you are thinking about.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.
