Yes, that's my consulate.

I saw that they post cases that are ready for interview on their website. The lastest post is for May 2014 so I guess they keep it current, if you think your case is getting close to being completed you might wanna check the site on a regular basis to see if your case number is listed there. They have two batches, the ones that NVC schedules appts for and those ones with appointment package. So depending where your case is listed under, that will help you determine your next step. I actually thought that only K1 visas they send appointment package and pay fees at the consulate, but I looked at one of the pdf files and saw a couple IR2 listed there.

Thanks for the answers, I have a random thought, maybe they are able to do this because the US post here in my city Guayaquil, is a consulate general, on contrary for example, Quito (Capital of Ecuador) is an embassy, Manila is an embassy too, of what I can conclude, I think that embassies are able to issue immigrant visas, but not adjudicate any cases, they just came by the interview that schedules the NVC, consulates can do that, also, for example, Ciudad Juárez, México, does it too.

Should I wait patiently? I'm turning 21 this July, but from what I've read, I think that isn't a problem anymore.

Best regards.

Hi Guys ,nvc contacted me since i did an expedite request (per USCPARENT's advice thanks)

Need two phone numbers for my one kid (daughter)petition now I'm worried coz i have two petitions filed. Their nvc numbers ends in ********9 and ****6. Do they usually give you nvc numbers that are not in order like what we have in USCIS theirs end in 1and 2?

Now my other problem is they don't have their vaccination records (baby book) anymore because we are completely wipeout from that flooding and their pediatrician doesn't have a copy of the vaccinations since she records everything in that baby book. Am i gonna have a hard time at slmc? Can they do like a bloodtest to check...

You have to send two separate requests (emails) one for each case. Is that what you did? At the time the applicant's petition is entered in the system, thats when the NVC case is generated so yes it is ok if their case numbers aren't consecutive. My children's case numbers are far from each other but at the time that they're closing both case, they have been linked together and ended up having the same interview appointment. Regarding their immunization records, they're in the same boat as my kids, my kids' baby books were also caught on fire (their house burnt down 2 yrs ago) so they didnt have anything to show SLEC. Im not sure if they were asked or if their mother was asked about their immunization history but they were still given the shots required to pass the medical exam.

I feel you! I was the same way and it turns out I was stressing over nothing. I made sure though to turn in all the required documents to NVC that way when it came time for their interview, they don't have to worry about submitting anything. So when their appointment letters arrived, it stated there that all they needed to bring to the interview was that letter because everything else was already received and forwarded to USEM. But because I was worrying too much, I made sure that they bring NSO copies of their birth certificates, my birth certificate, the confirmation page of their DS-260, and I even had them bring the first letter from NVC that we received. Then the night before their interview I scanned them copies of their I-864W just incase which I'm glad I sent even at the last minute because that was the only one the CO asked for along with the interview letter. CO went through their paperwork, asked their for names and age and that was it! They were told to go to the window where they provided their Visa Ship To address. I guess we got lucky. I hope the same for your kids

Question to those petitioning for a stepchild. I know we need a letter from the other biological parent giving permission for the child to travel to the US, but when do we submit this? Do we submit it with the 260 supporting docs? At the time of the visa interview? Or is it something needed upon travel only? Thanks all!

I forgot to mention that I had my children bring a consent letter signed by their mother at the interview just incase but the CO didn't even ask for it. I had my kids put it away though as I will be bringing it with me when we travel. But I suggest to bring it to the interview as your case is different from mine, also I'm not sure if that's something NVC requires upon submitting documents to them, you can try contacting them about it just to make sure. Oh and make sure the letter is notarized.

You might want to ask your fellow countrymen about these as our laws differ. In the Philippines, if the child is illegitimate, full custody is automatically given to the biological mother, so no need consent from father.

Good luck.

Hi there uscparent and congratulations by the way :).. I have one question for you. Are your kids your illegitimate? I assume you are the father? If so, for them to travel without a mother of an illegitimate child or without both parents of a legitimate child, you need to apply for a travel clearance from DSWD.

I'm not sure what your kids status are but if you can enlighten me, I can help you advise on requirements for travel of your kids.

Good luck!

Yes they are my legitimate children.

Great. Since they are legitimate children, both parents should accompany them to travel outside the country. Now, if one of the parent is absent, you need to secure a travel clearance from DSWD.

Good luck.
