When I completed the AOS Form, I used I-864EZ, turns out I had to use I-864W. That is all they've requested.

As far as the supporting docs for DS-260, I've submitted original and copies of my child's birth certificate, biographic page of his passport (copy) and 2 photographs. I've checked the doc required listed on NVC's website multiple times and these are the only docs I think that would apply to a minor beneficiary so I hope they dont ask for anything anymore.

Really? Is the natural mother/father of the child a USC already? I-864W is a waiver and can only be used if the Child can be automatically become a US citizen upon arrival in US under the Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

It has to be at least one "parent" is a USC. Parent here I understand as who is the biological parent. Step-parents can't be the basis for the Child's automatic citizenship right? Based on Child Citizenship Act of 2000?

I hope someone in here could help us clarify this.

This is not necessarily true, you can only use I-864W if the child will automatically become a US citizen upon arrival in US, age is not just the requirement and the age requirement is below 18 yrs old.

To qualify for the I-864 waiver for a minor, you have to meet these requirements:

• The child has at least one United States citizen parent (by birth or naturalization);

• The child is under 18 years of age;

• The child is currently residing permanently in the United States in the legal

  and physical custody of the United States citizen parent;

• The child is a lawful permanent resident;

• An adopted child meets the requirements applicable to adopted children under

  immigration law

Ay Sorry, I was confused with dadajnm's question about step parent's marriage certificate , I thought he/she was the OP. , When I saw the title of this thread "Petition for Minor Children of a US Citizen" I then realize that the biological parent is a USC. So, "Yes" you need I-864W, its a waiver or exemption that you don't have to fill up I-864(Affidavit of Support) to your minor children as they will be a US Citizen immediately upon entry in US, based on Child Citizenship Act of 2000.

I was confused as I did the regular I-864 and I think, I did it right coz I'm a USC Step Parent and the biological mother (my wife) is still green card.

It doesn't hurt for your child to bring pics with both of you.

Did you submit pics on your initial I-130 petition? If so, those have been forwarded to the US Embassy in Manila already.

No I did not submit any pictures to USCIS. Hopefully they have some left, their house burnt down last year and did not get to save anything.

This is the last one that i wouldn't know that they may needed to our minor child. I still do remember when spoke about it and i was told ot is required.i had done this before

If you got approved without pictures, you should be OK, usually, if pictures is needed to establish relationship, USCIS will RFE you with it. If ever you don't have pics coz it was burned, just tell the CO if your child is asked.

In my experience last march 3,2014 interview it went well, myself as a petitioner on behalf of three applicant CO ask me how am i related with these people I said am the husband and father of two kids" CO said. That's great and helps and tell me about yourself and what do you do for a living,

And 3 question were asked to my wife just took 2 min on the third call then we move down to the last call for releasing area 2GO. Just want to share my experience

Actually we have tons of pictures and call logs,receipts 12 years of marriage. Anyway good luck if anything you want to know about it how interview process will be for do not hesitate to asked buzz us up

Yes. DS-260 online and supporting documents with the IV cover sheet by mail.

Emailed sent yesterday, 13th of April

Dear Sir or Madam:

The National Visa Center has received all documentation necessary to complete pre-processing

of your case. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner

and attorney (if applicable) will be notified. YAY!

Right now the status of my case on NVC website still shows "At NVC, please follow instruction from NVC for the next step blah blah blah", will that change only when the interview has been set?
