Hello po :) Me and my brother will be having our interview next week. I'm turning 18 this October and my brother is turning 13 this August, so basically we're minors. Uhm, is it mandatory that we must be accompanied by our biological mother to the interview or is it okay that it's just the two of us?

I'm not sure about your question but it seems like that you need to have an adult accompanying you. Age of adulthood is different in USA compared to Philippines, so to be safe, bring an adult with you. Either your biological mom or your grandparent.

I am also not sure how you got your medical examination as I think you also need an adult with you.

Good luck!

Hello everybody,

I'm the beneficiary of an IR2 visa, my father a US citizen filed for me back in August of 2013, when I was 20 years old, by the actual processing times of NVC, I know I won't have an interview before my 21 birthday which is this July, do I have to be worried about or CSPA protects my IR2 status?

I've read USCIS CSPA description, but then I read NVC's info on DoS site stating that you should notify them if you're close to reach 21, should I mail them telling about my situation, or leave it how it is, relying that CSPA's "freezes" age on Immediate Relatives?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you and I'm sure yours is coming soon :)

Good luck :)

Quick question.. When your case was completed, did they gave you the date for the interview? Or you guys prefered to do it for June? I am just estimating the time that I'm gonna leave for US since i have a Return ticket already, rebooking is expensive. I am hoping by July, the case will be completed and hopefully an interview is set so we can leave for SEpt. Although my case was expedited it is best to be prepared for the unknown.

After your case us complete, they will request an interview date available for you from the embassy, then , they'll email you with an appointment date.

You are expedited on the USCIS as we'll as the NVC side?

Anyway, it's really hard to buy a ticket without an interview date set.

They always tell you not to buy one up until you recieve the visa.. :)

But, I bought my sons ticket as soon as I got the interview date.. I gambled but is successful so far.

We are still waiting for his visa.

Good luck!

Yes i had their case expedited on both uscis and nvc level. When i went home to my country i bought a roundtrip ticket. I thought i was giving it ample time for the processing to be completed ( wishful thinking!!! Too optimistic) but as the time goes near i am getting worried. I tried calling NVC and they said its still being reviewed. (That operator thinks she's God or something Grrr, asked her politely that we have a typhoon going our way these week, got already flooded last week asked to talked to a tier 2 supervisor to find out if my case is going along the expedited time frame, but she just gave me a wisecrack answers that doesn't even answers my question....all that waiting on the phone for an hour only to be told of useless or things that you already know..) oh boy this is nerve racking.

Thanks for answering :) We were accompanied by our aunt in our medical exam and luckily we've persuaded our mom to come with us next week :content: . One question, is she needed in the actual interview or she'll just accompany us inside the embassy?

As far as I know, if your case is expedited on the NVC side, they will send your paperworks to Manila already and have the case completed on the Embassy.

Our Case was only expedited on USCIS side but not on NVC side, so if you check the timeline of my Son (IR2), NVC side timeline is for regular non expedited timeline.

Good luck on the expedited application.

For interviews on minors, usually the adult is being interviewed and the minors are just asked personal information.

Just ask your biological mom to bring her ID, they usually want to confirm their identity especially if they don't have a record of her on the petition.

Good luck to you guys.

I suggest that you just reprint the page where there's a date on it and make it current with current signatures.

Hi USCParent,

I'm still contemplating on why you the CO asked for a copy of your I-864W, Can I ask how many of your kids you petitioned? Just 1 or more than 1?

If more than one, the copy is for the other person that needs I-864W, if only one, then, I guess I'll prepare to scan all my I-864 docs in preparation for his interview next month.

Thanks. :)

Hi merkin&regine I apologize for the late reply. I haven't been logging in lately as I am in the Philippines picking up my children. To answer your question, I have 2 children I submitted separate petitions for. As to why the CO asked for a copy of their I864W, I'm not sure, maybe the original ones I've sent to NVC weren't included in the packets NVC forwarded to the USEM? I'm not really sure why, I'm just glad I thought about sending them copies even if appointment letter I received stated that all required docs have already been forwarded to the

USEM. I filled out two I-864W, one for each of my children.

I had a similar case with my very own case. My husband has already sent out the necessary paperwork to NVC. My P4 indicated that all my documents are complete and all i have to do is go to US Embassy Manila for my interview. To my surprise, on my interview, I was told that my AOS was missing. The bad thing is, I only had photocopies with me, the original was already sent to NVC. To make it short--YES, paperwork can get lost somewhere between NVC and the US Embassy. That is the reason why the Local US Embassy may ask you original copy of this and that every now and then during the interview. BEST THING TO DO IS, ALWAYS HAVE ORIGINAL COPIES FOR BACK-UP AS MUCH AS YOU CAN so your Visa won't get delayed like mine did. I was delayed for 15 days.
