Hello Members

I need help on filing out I-864. My mother Filed for the immigration of my sister. However, My mother has no income. So, I am filling out I-864a as household member and She is filling out I-864 as petitioning sponsor. She came to USA in 2012,therefore she was not required to file Federal Tax Return for 2011. She was not required to file Tax Return for 2012 and 2013 as she had no income in 2012 and 2013. So, She didn't filed any tax return last three years

Now the question is what do we write for following question of I-864

Part 6. Q13. should she leave it as unchecked?

Part 6. Q13a to c: What should she write for Federal Tax returns of most recent three years? should she put zero as her income? or should she just leave them blank and attach an explanation

I will really appreciate,If you anyone can help us on this or if anyone can share their past similar experience .

That is what i was thinking to do,but putting a zero may mean that she filed tax return with zero income. That is what is confusing me. Have u had any experience like that

i agree with Krispy K. I filed my i-184 with zero income also and I had to attach an explanation letter why I didn't file taxes. Also I used my mom income with i-864A

Jikoy

so you put zero for last three tax years ( Part6 : Question 13a to c)?

Did you leave the box uncheck for question 13 where it asks if u r submitting copy of tax returns?

Thanks man

I have one more question.

In part 11 of I-864a..what income should i put.. I was suggeseted to use income stated at line 22 of 1040 tax return form. Line 22 is the total income, but IRS transcript doesn't show total income...it just shows the money which i earned in terms of salary , wages and etc. I am planning to submit tax transcript, but which income do i show?
