I was referring to the actual discussions that took place when folks would try to disarm the personal attacks. We had quite a few that led to a deeper understanding of each other. There's hope for some of you lot.

nah - you missed the point, that personal attacks are a no-no here.

I agree about the personal attacks. When I first got here, perceptions about black people and Muslims were in the in the gutter for some members. I was able to at least alter it a little bit. NB insulted me the first time we met because he didn't know I was both black and Muslim(my avatar back then was just the Malaysian flag). After our discussion, he learned something. He still takes shots at me every now and then, and I know he still has his biases, but when my wife's grandfather passed away, he wrote me personally to express his condolences. That's progress in my eyes.
