Electronics are strictly NOT allowed inside the USEM. http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/securityregulations.html

But I read somewhere here before that they allow US citizens to bring theirs inside, just not sure if they will temporarily keep it at the security kiosk. Maybe she can ask somebody's fiance to keep it for her? Just a thought.

I think I read you can pay someone to hold it for you outside. Not sure how that works. Better to hide it under a rock :) Make sure you hold on to your sim card and good luck with your interview.

I just talked to my fiance and she said she left her phone with the people outside. She did have to pay them 200 pesos. She only made this decision because she didn't have a choice and the guard said it was ok to leave it with them, there here everyday. I guess some of the guys outside the embassy are trustworthy.

I left it with someone outsie when I went there for a tourist visa interview. They'll give you a laminated card with their contact info and photo.

There are no electronics allowed inside the embassy at all but US citizens can leave their phones with the security booth before entering the compound.

You cannot have electronics of any kind passed inside security. There are people outside that will hold your phone for 200 pesos. I have not heard of a case where anyone who left their phone was unable to retrieve it from the "vendor" after they finished their interview. It's just best to leave all your electronics at the hotel secured.

Also, FYI I (USC) forgot that I had the USB dongle with me and they gave me a place to secure my dongle as long as I left my driver's license. I did so and had no problems.

Absolutely NOT allowed inside the embassy (not even USC). No electronics allowed in the embassy is stated on the embassy website and the instructions letter.
