1. My husband and I both have older children and one together. Do we need to bring the older ones' birth certificates? His children are adults and mine are not in the US.

2. A completed Affidavit of Support (Form I-864) unless already submitted. Have I submitted this form already?

3. Original and copy of each that you submitted with your application. Otherwise we may keep the originals for our records. I DON'T HAVE ANY

I will greatly appreciate your help. Thanks!

1. Are they involved in the AOS at all? If not then you shouldn't need them

2. Yes you would have already submitted that, I have no idea why the form letter states things like that

3. You didn't keep a copy of your application? What about the original documents that you sent copies of with the application? You should have things like birth certificates, marriage certificate, tax return etc

Posted

1. No, they are not.

2. I wonder the same.

3. Not the application form itself. But I have the other documents like tax returns, etc.

Thanks! Im especially concerned about #1 because I don't have them.

I was also curious about the birth certificates of children. Because in letter it saying to bring birth certificate of kids even if they dont live with us. My husband has daughter that lives with his Ex, so she sent us copy of birth certificates. Cant you get at least copy of them?

Bring everything you have or that you submitted with your applications along with any other items which came up since. My wife & I just had out interview and our IO asked for proof of the applications, evidence, ect... In addition to the info you submitted with your application, bring anything that has come about in the past few months since. They may ask for that.

Yes I was required to bring my step-children's original birth certificates to my AOS Interview and I was asked to confirm information about my step-children during my interview. Bring anything and everything with you that you think is relevant. Its better to have too much, than have that one piece of documentation they request on the day not with you.

Oh! You really should bring her BC. I'll get theirs anyway, just to be safe. Good luck to you too!
