Hello,

i've seen a few things about this and have never seen anything solid from anyone who has done it with regards to figures etc, just seems others pulling random amounts of the air.

According to the website it can be done and again there's nothing to state how much money, assets etc you require. I'm assuming it's at the level of 125% the poverty rate as with sponsors as that seems to be the logical place for the amount to be.

Im being overly cautious I think as I have a co sponsor but I am also capable of supporting myself for 90 days through rental income, I've done this already on four trips to the US of between 80 and 90 days. Anyway this is what I'm taking along to prove I will not be a public charge even if they do not accept my sponsor or co sponsor.

1. Last years bank statements showing earnings and expenses (I have no mortage and my outgoings related to my property are minimal)

2. Last years worth of invoices showing my rental income

3. Rental agreement

4. Letter from estate agents showing current value of house

5. Insurance certificate showing value insured for

6 Deeds

My current balance is £4,500 and annoyingly I get paid two days after my interview which would put my balance up to a level that I feel would be enough on its own for them not to worry about me being a public charge.

If anyones had experience or knows if this will be satisfactory please let me know, as you all know with this process you seem to go through everything. One minute you're relaxed and almost excited to finally get to the interview and then the fear creeps in.

Also if I do have to use my assets then I'll be sure to share anything I learn from them with regards to what is acceptable.

Thanks

Haha, well one way or another I'll know the answer by this time Wednesday.

Maybe these will shed some light on your case

And if you do search on it you'll find many more threads.

Good luck!

Thanks for the links agnesb! I woke up this morning having a mini freak out about it all for some reason. I guess there's a lot on the for us k1 applicants, I just a quick read through and somehow these threads passed me by this morning, probably too busy worrying about nothing!
