Use the one that does.

Or both.

Sureties are not relevant to a Visitor Visa.

Any invitation is essentially irrelevant.

Two possible things going here. I have heard of some countries that require a bond/suriety prior to issuing a tourist visa to that country. I know Iran asked a $5,000 bond when my niece-in-law applied for a tourist visa to Sweden. To my knowledge the US does not ask for a bond to be made which would be forfeited if the tourist failed to return.

If you are referring to a person writing a letter stating they will guarantee you will not overstay the tourist visa.....this is useless. No one can guarantee another person will leave the US (except certain law enforcement peoples). An invitation letter is sometimes helpful and sometimes makes it worse depending on who is writing it and for what reasons.

The only way you can obtain a tourist visa to the US is to prove you have strong ties to your home country that prove you will return home when your visit is over.

While there is something called a 'maintenance of status' bond that was occasionally used many years ago, the current ceiling of $5000 is laughable if somebody wants to stay in the US. Even with this utterly useless motivation, a person could still marry on a B2 visa, change status, etc, so, like so many other irrelevant motivators, this one withered on the vine.

Invitation letters have even less value. The applicants must qualify for a tourist visa on their own merits, not by promises or guarantees made on their behalf by interested third parties.
