Our K-1 visa petition is currently on its way to the embassy in Burma (Myanmar) for processing. We are trying to get all the paperwork done that we can now, but have some questions regarding the Affidavit of Support. I (the petitioner) do not make enough currently (have been volunteering overseas for the past few years) to qualify as the financial supporter of my fiance. My father, however, is well above the 125% required salary and is more than willing to sponsor my fiance. Do I need to fill one out as well as a "co-sponsor" or is just one from my father enough?

Also, we are not sure exactly what documents are required when submitting the I-139. Some forums say it needs to be notarized and several bank statements and pay stubs need to be included; others say this is unnecessary. What is actually required for proving ability to sponsor?

You each need and I-134 and should each provide most recent tax transcript, letter from employer and/or recent pay stubs. If they are self-employed, then just the last few years of tax transcripts will do.
