Hey everyone,

We just filed for Adjustment of Status for my husband. We submitted our package February 20th and it is not March 16 and we still havent received any confirmation of any kind. I was wondering, how long does it take to receive the NOA1 for AOS? Personal experiences would help too for us to get some sort of idea.

Also, my husband came in with a K1 Fiance Visa. We got married here and sent our paperwork for AOS soon after.

Where did you sent the paper works? I am also waiting for NOA1. My husband sent the I-130 package last week Monday 3/10/14, we keep on checking the bank if they cash the check but they have not cash it yet. I am hoping that tomorrow we get an update from them.

We sent our paper work to the California Visa Center. Do you know if there is any other way to check if they received it? We used a cashier's check instead of a personal check so we can not see if the check has been cashed or not.

for AoS as far as I know you send the paperwork to the Chicago lockbox address. Thats what I did coming in on a K1, took about 2 weeks to receive the bit of paper. Have they received it, did you send it by USPS with tracking?

Actually i gave it to a firm to send it. I was assuming it was the California center but I am not 100% sure. I asked the firm if they have a tracking number but they are saying no they dont have one.

Do you think if i call USCIS they can give me the receipt number so I can at least check my status on their online system?

Welcome to the forum.

Check out Family-based AOS Progress sub-forum for for case filing and progress associated with AOS. If I remember correctly it took between 2-3 weeks for us to receive the NOA1notices for the AOS/AP/EAD applications.

We followed the filing directions and mailed to the Chicago lockbox:

http://www.uscis.gov/i-485-addresses

Sending to another location will likely result in delays.

Good luck on your immigration journey.

Are you sure you sent the paper works to California not to Chicago lockbox? My husband used personal check that is why he can tract it. I am not sure about your check, call the bank and ask them if they can tract it. He sent the i-130 package in Chicago lockbox. Please check their website I remember I read the instructions where you should send your paper works.

Submitted package same day as you, got there on the 24th of febr and got email Noa1 on march 2nd. also, already got noa1 hard copy and my biometrics appointment. Call uscis and figure out where is your package, cause I don't think it's a good idea to miss your biometrics appointment.

Good luck!

The bad weather that has been plaguing Chicago has been slowing things down alot. We filed our AOS on 2/7 and did not receive our NOA 1 until 3/4. So don't get too worried yet.
