hello everyone here is my timeline. i am a greencard holder and wife lives overseas i sent the application here in chicago then they transfered to california. i am getting my citizenship next month. i still did not get an approval for I130 it has been little over 5 months. my wife is now 5 months pregnant.

my question is this normal wait time for an approval?

now that she is pregnant, how i can add the baby on the petition?

is there going to be more and more wait time because of birth? or they will just give the baby U.S passport right away?

thanks for all experienced answers

Once you will get your citizenship, then you can upgrade your F2A case. hope that time you don't have to wait so long. you can add your child to your petition any time after birth. need only birth certificate.

Yes, it's normal processing time.

Baby cannot be added while she is pregnant. Baby can be added after he/she is born.

If you are still an LPR when your wife interviews, then you simply add the child to her petition by informing the authority with the case.

Once you become a US citizen, then things changes. You will want to inform the agency with the petition for your wife that you are a US citizen and the case should be upgraded to an Immediate Relative case which will make it quicker for your wife to immigrate. You child cannot be added. You would need to file for a CRBA and get a US passport for your child.

This is true IF the OP becomes a US citizen before the baby is born. If he becomes a citizen after the birth and upgrades his wife's petition to an IR1, he will need to file a separate, new I-130 for the baby, since there are no derivatives for an IR1.
