Bring Obama up when he's relevant to the conversation, instead of blaming that man when your bread is soggy. It weakens the message and makes the person look foolish.

When it comes to liberal politics and the actions of his administration, then he's the go to guy. He's the guy i'm going after. He's the guy I'm going to hold to account and also those who vote for him. The buck stops with him, and not the evening news. The same goes for those who will disagree when they watch what happens after the GOP regains the Senate majority this fall.

Prior to March?

They've always favored greater autonomy. That was what their original constitution would have gave them. Hard to say if they would have ever voted to join Russia outright. Probably not if the events in Maidan didn't happen, but greater autonomy yes.

You could kind of compare it to Hawaii. Support for native Hawaiian sovereignty is popular there at times, even among non Hawaiians. At the same time, having lived there for 10 years, they are as patriotic Americans as you will find anywhere. I felt the same in Crimea. They were Crimean, and then they were Russian, Ukrainian, Jewish, Tatar or what other nationality they were.

My opinion of western journalism is sustained by this crisis, btw. I used to have ready access to newscasts from around the world, and could follow various events over extended periods. Surprising, the "truth" is fairly easy to determine by comparing where the reports are consistent, and filtering out where they are not. Propaganda infects much of what is reported as news worldwide and the west is no different.

Why should consistency be a measuring stick? I am sure that North Korean news carries a very consistent story.

So was a good portion the eastern Pacific coastline along North America as far south as San Francisco. Good thing the Russian Czars and Spanish Monarchy were getting along at the time.

Sebastopol, California is less than eight miles from where I live along the Russian River. Russians were given refuge in Spanish ports, and the only nation, as far as I know, that was able the trade directly with the Spanish in California. I believe there was some sort of marriage involved, cousin or sister, or something like that. Catherine seems to come to mind.

Only hippies live in Sebastopol lol. (Though Ace Cider goes from there.)

Here's your problem. Not everything liberal is an issue. It's this single minded thinking that drives most argument.

I'm talking about hamburgers and solar panels. You can't blame Obama for that.

And I'll drop names. I've seen Penny and Papa told straight to their faces their opinions don't matter because they're not USC's, even when they were right.

Yep, it's amazing the folks here who've married someone from a different country have such a narrow mindset.

It's easier to win political arguments with a spouse that doesn't speak your language. I'm 106-0 in political arguments with my wife. I win them all.

I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.

Who cares? He said she said, and beside the point. Leaving Kiev does not constitute resignation under the constitution of Ukraine.

Who said what?

There was a video footage of his bodyguards (or something) packing all his valuables during night.

He was supposed to sign the documents.

But instead he decided to run away. Like a coward. Instead of facing the issues in his own country. The issues he and his buddies created.

I guess the only thing I really have to say on the subject is this.

It seems odd to me that crimean polls from the past were never solidly for independence or russian annexation. And yet suddenly this month the vote is 96%? I'm sorry but from a sociological perspective its does not seem possible. Therefore I must assume fraud.

And can you believe that there were a few thousand votes more than the actual population in Crimea?

Add that to the fact that most Ukrainian an Tatars haven't voted at all.

Fraud as usual in Russia.

Again so what. That's not a resignation. Just like skipping a cabinet meeting to play golf isn't a resignation. Unfortunate but a fact of life.

I imagine the reason you don't give links, is because you're pulling that out of a place no one wants to see.
