Obama hasn't started any wars, Bush most certainly did. I know everyone likes to make out that there's some sort of moral equivalence to all presidents foreign policy initiatives, but bush's approach was very much in keeping with the 1960s cold war.

No, Obama loses interest in everything as soon as tee time comes around. We've seen more countries go hell since Obama has been in office than any president in recent memory. Either he's complicit in US foreign policy or he's completely clueless. Probably both.

Yep, wife is Russian now. She really wanted to be there but obviously it's not easy to travel there at the moment, so the Russian flag will have to do.

She already lost her Ukrainian citizenship when she got her US so we will have to see what happens. She's going to Sevastopol in June, and this will likely drag on well past that. She might need a visa to go back home now.

It fits though. There was this guy who couldn't stop posting blogs and opinion pieces showing how Putin was going to lose this one. And how Ukraine was going to send homosexuals to Crimea. And how an anchor quitting a TV show really stuck it to Putin. And how there were no fascists in the Kiev protests.

I didn't say Obama was Bush (or Putin). I said you could add his name to the list. They all share the doctrine of f'ing around in other countries affairs when they should be fixing their own problems.

Whatever. I know enough Russian and Ukrainian people to know that you need to take what the idiots at BBC and CNN are saying with a grain of salt. But it really doesn't matter what anyone believes. The lesson now should be to stop screwing around with other governments, but the lesson won't be learned. Didn't learn it with Egypt. Didn't learn it with Syria and we won't learn it with Ukraine.
