Hi Guys,

We have our interview in february for my husbands AOS, We filed just 2 months ago when he arrived on a k-3 visa. All we

have are lots of photo's of us and our wedding for support. Is this really enough? Any experiences?

If you haven't done so yet open up a joint bank account; add him to a credit card; see if you can add his name to a utilities bill - something to show that you have joined your finances together. If you each have cell phones on the same account they should show both names or numbers on the bills; have you added him to your employer's health insurance as your spouse - if so, bring proof (card or statement or even acknowlegement from your employment); either of you have added the other to insurance plans or pension plans as spouse - bring proof or copies of correspondence requesting this action; wills naming each other as your spouse/beneficiary; bring mail addressed to the both of you at the same address (ie. Christmas cards, including envelopes); joint Costco cards or similar account; letters (notarized) from friends, family and/or neighbours verifying that you present yourselves as a married couple and reside at the same address; both names listed on rental lease or letter from landlord verifying you both live there, . . these are all other possibilities. You don't need all of these, of course, but the more evidence you can present the easier it will be for the adjudicator to approve you. Co-mingling of financial affairs is the biggie, so do see if you can manage something to show you are financially involved with each other, even if he isn't working yet.

You haven't been married very long so they will expect that you are just at the start of your life together. Still, there will be some things that you do have that show you are both presenting yourself to the public as a married couple living in the same address. You have time to obtain some of these if you haven't already.

Oh, do your income taxes early and file as married, filing jointly so that you have copies of your income tax as well.
