.-.- I hate SSA.

So... is a joint account a really important proof during adjustment of status? If so.. I guess my best bet is to try and open an account with another bank or if that doesn't work, get an ITIN. Correct?

It's a plus, not necessarily a requirement, sis. Which bank were you trying to open a joint account with? Other banks are not that strict, but most likely, your name in the account will still be in your visa / maiden name. But this can easily be changed when the EAD/AP card arrives. :)

We were trying to open with Navy Fed since my husband's current account(s) are with them. And I'm glad to hear from you sis!! Hi!! Did you push through with the long gown for the wedding?

Totally agree with Darnell. If you were told you need a joint bank account for AOS that was baddddd info.

AOS is more about knowing each other and having started a life together. During AOS we were interviewed, USCIS asked my wife how many bedrooms the house had and how many bathrooms, what year was my truck and so on... she didn't even get the year of my truck correct... laughing.gif

There was nothing about joint bank accounts or even having the title to the house or car in both our names, now come ROC those type of things are for sure expected by USCIS.

I tried looking into the Navy Fed requirements, sis. Seems like they're very strict with the SSN / ITIN conditions, which is reasonable for a government bank. Maybe worth looking into other banks if you are still keen in opening one, sis. Some banks have relatively low minimum monthly deposit naman. smile.png

p.s. Yes! on the gown. Hahaha. blush.png
