I'm a flight attendant. You spend a lot of time flying and away from family and mostly in hotels however you fly everywhere and get the perks of flying free. Some people love the job or hate it. I'd say go to school... Flying will always be there even if you decide down the road to do it part time.

Thank you! :)

I will go though training and if I do get the scholarship I will surely go to school in August. That's like 4 months away so I can definitely use the time I have being an FA.

Do you have any tips on how to memorize the city codes? Theres like 200+ codes. Do you have any best practices or study tips I can use to do better at memorizing these codes?

TNS is strict with calendars. Artists must be available for weekend sessions- be it as an usher or creator. I have to play a lot!

I know, right? But a student at Parsons doesn't have weekend activities during the first 18 months of the curricula.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Also keep in mind, getting into training doesn't mean you have the job. It means you got into training to THEN be hired, if you pass. Personally, and this is just me, I'd never go through that torture if my intention is to work for only 4 months. It's difficult and incredibly stressful.

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.

Do you think it would look bad if I quit after 4 months?

why quit? reshuffle your work schedule for Friday, Saturday Sunday, instead, after the semester begins. I feel certain that you can do it.

He won't be able to. He will sit reserve. He is junior. It goes by seniority. He must bid for it and wait for his award. I can certainly say it is nearly impossible to do so while sitting reserve. Once he holds a line, it is very possible. Depending on the airline, he may sit reserve up to 5 years. As senior FA's quit or retire, his seniority goes up and the closer he gets to a line.

That's how the industry works. Period. It is not a regular job where you go to your supervisor and shuffle things around. You must go through crew scheduling, bidding and they go with the FAA regulations and union agreement. Seniority is everything.

I worked for 2 airlines, a regional and an international. It is the same thing.

my first year I sat on reserve and had no choice on the days or times I worked, think it is a bit unfair to those that want to work for longer than 4 months, just my 2 cents LOL

the city codes come easier after you have worked on the job awhile, I worked at learning 6 a day and made up little sayings like MCO for Orlando, mickey craves oreos LOL

cheers
