more like a couple of months...dont expect time to go by smoothly with this process...its absolutly horrible.

alex

We're hoping that it won't take that long because the waiting is unbearable and being far away from each other is awful. We thought we got everything right but it looks like we have so many loopholes in our paperwork. I see that you got your NOA1 back in September and still waiting for the precious NOA2. That's darn too long of waiting! Anyway, good luck on your journey and we're keeping our fingers crossed that everything will go smoothly with our case (though it's just a wishful thinking).

If you really think that you will get an RFE for that then have your fiance print out the letter of intent again and sign it. Then s/he can mail it you now and if there is an RFE in the future you will already have the paperwork and can immediately send it to USCIS. That could save you some time.

We had some supplements with our applicatios because not all of the information would fit onto the I-129F and G-325A forms. We sent those in - nicely typed and marked accordingly - but not signed. Not that we had to but I was afraid of it. My fiance printed out the forms again and signed every page. He then mailed them to me. We did not have an RFE, but had we, his paperwork was here in the U.S. with me so I would not have had to ask him to mail me anything and put off their request.

Otherwise, relax and don't think about it too much. If USCIS wants something from you, they'll ask.

I know there are still some Sept NOA1s but realize that most of us have been approved. (Check out Gary's website).

Hope this helps.

We have our original letters of intent to marry but we only included photocopies of it in our original packet that we submitted.

Why only photocopies? If I am not mistaken you should have sent the originals.

REALLY? :o:huh::blush::( We didn't know. We thought it's ok to submit photocopies of the letters of intent. The only originals that we sent were the forms, my birth certificate, Divorce Decrees/Death Certificate and the rest, including the letters of intent to marry were all photocopies. Well darn it, I guess we should anticipate an RFE in the coming days. :(:(

Like I mentioned earlier, don't sweat it. The letter of intent is not required. I do feel it improves the overall package but is it not critical. I didn't send one for my fiancee and there was no problem. Approved in 27 days.

This depends on the Consulate too. It's not fair to say it is not required because you do not know how each Consulate works. What worked for you may not work for another. Just MHO.

Maybe I miss understood the question. I thought the question pertained to submitting a I-129F. I'm sure like many other people, I used various reference sources to complete my application. I didn't see where a letter of intent was required. But your point is well taken and I will be sure in the future to completely understand the question before adding my 10 cents. Good intentions may be bad advice sometimes.

Eventually, at some point, the I-129F will be reviewed by the CO, am I not correct? IF this CO wants to see a letter of intent he or she WILL ask for it, and that could cause some delay. I am glad you got approved in such a short time and without the letter of intent. That is NOT always the case. When my husband received Packet 3 there was a list of things he needed to bring with him. An updated letter of intent was included. Had he not brought it with him and the CO asked for it, we would have been delayed. I am merely stating what the experience of some have been.

You are free to add whatever comments you want to make. This is, after all, a public forum. Personally, I feel the OP needs to converse with those who are going through the same Consulate to get the best advice.

The person here was concerned that the lack of a letter on intent would delay the I-129F approval. I was just stating that it is not required. Of course if I had a letter from my finacee I would have included it in the package. I even considered having here send it to me via courier, but in my research I could not find where it was required, even though I agree it is a excellent proof of intend to marry. As I stated in a earlier post, I did send a signed letter from myself and i didn't loose any sleep over the matter. What the Consulate requires for the interview is another matter. If that is the case. then the US citizen can send a letter with the the affidavit of support documents.

Sorry, my mistake. I had my fiancee checked all the documents we got - the originals and our backup copies - and she told me that we submitted original letters of intent to marry in our I-129F. We were together when we compiled and arranged our packet but I couldn't remember if we sent original for the intent to marry. I guess that's the problem in overdoing your packet :D. Now I feel better knowing that we, did submit original.
