While we wait...how did you meet?

I met my fiance while he was in NJ on a student visa. We actually met on the internet and then met in person. We were together as much as possible between September 25th and November 19th when he had to return to India. Then I wen to visit him February 13th to February 22nd. Submitted the paperwork once I returned to NJ. Depending on the length of the process I might be going back to visit him in August.

This is totally off topic...My fiance is driving himself crazy. He feels as if getting the visa approved is like winning a lottery or a competition. I don't think its that big a deal. Any opinions?

Of course it is a big deal - you will be together! Isn't it what you both want? :)

Yes of course. But my question was, is it something difficult to achieve? As if only 1 K1 petition is approved a month. That is how anxious he is about the whole process.

Not easy, having in mind patience and the lenght of time. You better check the forums about the K-1 and read read read.

I know patience is needed because it is a long process. But still my question has to do with the likely hood of getting the K1 approved. Are most people denied? And then need to marry and apply for a CR1?

I am so sorry I can't answer to your question, but if you go to your particular country Forums or do some search (on the top right side of your screen) you will sure find everything. Good luck!

Many moons ago when we were both just kids...Me and my (now) husband both lived in England, in the same street. We were neighbors. Our brothers and sisters all hung out together, we all went to the same school. I had a HUGE almighty crush on him. I even had my very first kiss with him.....

Aged 15, his mother met and married (my now father-in-law) who is in the American Military and they all moved to America. I never heard from my crush again.

20 years later.... I have been divorced 4 years.... a FB friends request pops up... from you know who dancin5hr.gif. He was also divorced with two children (I had no children from my first marriage).

We fell in love immediately (yes... crazy to some), and we called each other a billion times a day. 9 months later I flew out to see him for the first time and we got engaged.

I flew out another 2 times before finally tying the knot and the rest is history.

We have now been together 3 years. Even now I wake up every day and it does not seem real at all. Both our first marriages were very unhappy, we feel thankful that we were both given a second chance. We are, without a doubt soul-mates. Maybe god had a plan for us all along. We talk about it all the time. We are best buddies, which I swear has to be the most important thing in a marriage (I most certainly did not have that in my first marriage).

The most wonderful thing about the whole story is I got 3 for the price of 1, as I am step-momma to my gorgeous step-son 9, and my equally gorgeous step-daughter who is 11.

Its a real mind trip to think that the first person I ever kissed, is going to be the last person I ever kiss. heart.gifheart.gifheart.gif

Hi!

so nice to read your stories! Here's mine:

I was an exchange student when I was 16. I studied my junior year of high school in the States and I lived with an American family. My fiance was our neighbor from a couple blocks down. My host mom and his mom were friends and I spent a lot of time at his house. We didn't talk much that year and we weren't even what I would call friends. At first I didn't speak much English and he was shy. He says that he liked me then but I don't believe him tongue.png I didn't pay much attention to him, to be honest with you!

Anyways, we lost touch for about 12 years and then one summer my host mom gave me a birthday present: a round trip to go visit her! She had come a couple times to visit me in Barcelona but I hadn't been back to the States since. So I went and even though she had moved to another house, one day we went visit her old neighbor and her son, my now fiance, was there that day smile.png We started talking and saw each other a few times that summer, but only as friends. When I went back we e-mailed a lot but again only as friends. However, I felt that there was something else there so the next summer I decided to be brave and go see him... and we've been a couple ever since! It's been 3.5 years and I can't say that it has been easy but we made it! biggrin.png He lived with me here for a year and I lived with him for 6 months over there, and many other shorter trips. Like I said, not easy but we do love each other.

Sometimes I regret that we didn't fall in love then but we were too young... We lived too far away! The Internet wasn't what it is now, it took 20 minutes just to open an e-mail tongue.png And I wouldn't be the person I am today. He's very rooted there but I'm a traveler. I've lived in many places, enjoyed other cultures, learnt other languages... Now I can settle down with him but if I had done that before I was ready I think I would've felt like there was something missing in my life...

We'll hopefully get married this summer and really start our lives together with no return dates, no deadlines smile.png

Wishing all of you luck with your processes!

These are such lovely story's and so fascinating!

Zack and I met online! He started 'following' my blog in 2011 and he always used to send me messages and respond to my posts I replied and spoke to him but I never really acknowledged him (oops I know, I'm an idiot.. I regret it!)

One day I was posting about how much I wanted to go to America to 'eat some candy and go to Disneyland' he messaged me saying that if I came to California he'd take me! Obviously I thought he was joking but it was so lovely of him to offer so I messaged him back and we started talking. A couple of days after we started talking he sent me a picture of a box of candy and captioned it give me your address this is all for you. I was so taken aback, I've never really had anyone do anything that cute or nice for me! After that we spoke 24/7 everyday and after a couple of months I booked my ticket to California! As promised he took me to disneyland and it was perfect I felt the happiest I've ever been and he makes me feel complete! :D
