After 5 months at "Testing and Interview" my case changed back to "Initial Review." Still no interview date. Has this ever happened to anybody?

Did you change your address? Just curious because our attorney changed his address and we think that's why we may have seen the change back to "initial review." Edited by sunshinestate2013

That's a very good question. I don't know the answer to that. But I am concerned that due to the address change, that may put us at the back of the line. But, like I said, I don't know how that works Does anybody know how this works?

Hi Sunshine,

just to update you that my "initial review" has changed back to "testing and interview" after only one business day.(Friday to Monday.... got me worried the whole weekend). I received my paper NOA of interview date and location yesterday as well, which is a month from now. I guess that means we are not put back in the line due to the change of address. But I am a l little surprised that your case has stopped updating for a few months, did you call USCIS?? I call them a lot, which might be the reason they update my online case quickly......who knows......

First of all, congratulations on getting your interview letter! That's fantastic.

Also, thank you for letting me know that you switched back to "Testing and Interview." Maybe mine will change back to T&I too!

We have called USCIS several times and even got an InfoPass to find out why there's been such a delay in getting an interview. They tell us that our local office is very busy, and as of December 2013 they were processing the applications from May 2013. We did not apply until September 2013, so we still have a little ways to go.

As far as switching to "Initial Review," ours changed last Friday. So hopefully it will change back to "Testing and Interview" soon.

Hi, Violetleaf.

I don't think that the address change will affect you much if you are moving within the same city.

As you can see above, @Wesburwj moved, and her case changed back to "Initial Review" but soon after that she received her interview date. So I don't think that moving affects your interview date scheduling.
