Hi guys

Does anybody have any knowledge and/or experience on reporting a marriage abroad to the Department of Home Affairs in South Africa, whilst in RSA?

I'm lucking out on getting help from them and the website doesn't help either. The only bits of info I can find belong to SA Embassy websites overseas (and that info is for doing it from abroad).

I gotcha! It's never easy with Home Affairs! Grrr But I have never heard of reporting the marriage. I found this link maybe check it out. I know it's from the USA Embassy but it could be a starting point. Also if you have another Home Affairs near you go there. Some are better than others.

Have a look at this site http://www.southafrica-newyork.net/homeaffairs/identitydoc.htm

It looks like you fill out the forms for an ID Book and Passport and then do a written request for name change. I would guess you would have to included your marriage certificate in there too.
