Think positive guys. We all are here to encourage one another. F2A will be current very soon. It depends upon the available visa numbers. If they have more,then it may get current in last months of fiscal year that is august and sep, same like last year.

I think you are completely wrong. The PD was current 3 months ago. They have retrogressed to May 2012 because of the fiscal year. As predicted the Oct bulletin the PD will be current.

No one is wrong or right.

One would hope it would be back to current but so far nothing indicates that that will (or will not) happen in Oct. The PD was current because DOS wanted to create demand.

Just because there is a fresh supply of visa numbers on Oct doesn't mean DOS will rush out the use all those available numbers in the 1st month.

I agree with u.......coz even if they get fresh quota of Visa numers in Oct, they straight away wont start moving dates by 2 or more months....They will move steadily like 3 weeks....then 1 month and ...later in 2nd quarter i.e. in Jan 2015 VB ..they might move a little faster like 6 weeks or 8 weeks.......but i think back to Sep 2013 date ..we might see by end of new fiscal i.e by Aug or Sep 2015...

This is just what i can guess....it depends upon the future demand....lets see....

Hi,

Don't want to bust anyone's bubble, but the PD for the F2a category was just rolled back by 15 months to May 1, 2012. The government has already accounted for the new fiscal year and still rolled it back. Its not going to jump to "current" anytime soon.

Last year was an anomaly - a rare event. Look at all the years before 2013. Its usually a 2-3 years wait for the PD to become current in the F2a category for the world. Retrogression has simply moved things back to normal.

Do want to discourage you guys. Just wanted to provide IMHO a realist look at the situation.

If they wont make PD current, why cant they just approve visitors visas? this is very unfair!!! At least give a conditional visitors visa that will make it impossible to adjust status here and will require u to return for interview.... :clock::cry:

Just read the few posts up. These are all assumptions/predictions from various people. Someone took the dates and just extrapolated them out.

DOS will not come out and make a statement on how long the wait is for a specific PD to be current. So you won't find a link for what you are asking.

It may be months, years .. no one knows. Even DOS probably doesn't exactly know.

there are no written facts as all these are just predictions and assumption but some positive sign on the basis of past data is oct 2014 VB where DOS release new F2A there are chances tht it may start moving from previous close I.e 8th sept 2013 as they are clearing backlog from 2011-2012. hope for the best as last time i just missed by 2 days my PD is 10th sept 2013 and cc 7th march 2014

What promise did the US break?

What does the US owe to a foreigner who is not in the US?

At least they own that to green card holders... They are residents of the US and they deserve to be with their families
