I am wanting to know whether registering to get a marriage license in the US for a future date is advisable before the interview for K1? I would like to get a specific date and want to reserve a slot in the court for that day. So would it be a problem if I register for the marriage license now? Let me know your thoughts. Thanks.

June 20, 2014 - Application sent
July 27, 2014 - Biometrics appt
Sept 1, 2014 - EAD received
Oct 15, 2015 - Interview waiver letter received
May beginning - RFE asking for marriage certificate which i had already submitted while applying for AOS <_<

May 25, 2015 - AOS petition approved

May 28, 2015 - GC received :dancing:

That may be a question best asked of the county registrars/clerks office where you want to get married.idea9dv.gif

Doesn't your state require both people to be there to provide ID and sign the license in person? Besides that, the license typically is issued for only a certain amount of time. How do you know the K-1 visa will be issued in time? What if they are put in AP and have to wait for the visa to be issued? Not sure booking a wedding date is a good idea before having the K-1 visa in hand first.
