A favor from my VJ friends please

Luz's mother is very sick. She had a very bad stroke last year and has been going down hill ever since. Today she had another attack and is in the hospital. It does not look hopeful for her. Luz has always been very close to her mother and it does not look like she will be with us much longer. I pray that the time God gives her will be without pain and that she knows that she is not alone. I only wish I could be there with her at this time of need. Any prayers or good thoughts our friends at VJ can give would be appreciated. Thank you.

Thank you all. Luz is spending the night at the hospital. She just left to take over the watch from her sister. This is really hard on Luz. She has put on a brave face but I can tell it's really hurting her inside. I don't know if this is wrong to think this way or not but if the end is near (the doctor says it is) then I wish it could just be over for her. Lolita (Luz's mother) hasn't been aware in her mind for a while now. It is obvious that she is in great pain and I don't want her to suffer any more than she has to. This is one of those things that I don't have words for other than to tell Luz that I love her and I am always there for her. It's killing me to be so helpless when she needs me so much. I wish I were there!

It's not harsh at all Gary, when someone we love is in pain, suffering, and doesn't have much time left some will pray they cling to that bit of life left 'cus they don't want to be without their loved one, but some will pray that they go in peace and soon 'cus it hurts so much more to see them suffering, and them being in peace is better even if we know how much the ones that stay behind will suffer with the loss. You'll be in my thoughts and I am sure Luz is a strong woman and will hold on to the good memories of her mother.

It's a hard, hard part of life. Dying.

My grandmother was in hideous horrid pain the last couple of months of her life. Gary, I felt exactly like you. Dear Lord, just let her go.......she had been a good and wonderful woman her entire life and the death she was experiencing was simply unfair.

I know you feel helpless right now to console Luz and support her. What you are going through is something all of us who were or are separted from their partner fear - not being 'physically present' should they need us emotionally. But she DOES have you there - you are with her in her heart every day and every moment - and she knows you love her too.

And if I know Luz, that's good enough for now.
