This really is an 'only in America' moment. I can't think of anywhere else where this killing could or would be justified. It's horrific that anyone could think that the appropriate response to any kind of altercation with a teenager is to blast them with a gun. It's just outrageous and yes, the father was a coward and a murderer. Completely and utterly unnecessary and brutal.

My father taught me a sense of morals and ethics when I was YOUNGER. There's a time and place for everything, scads of folk that you've not apparently been exposed to, NEVER go against's Father's Commands.

I not think I am any exception, as a few thousand of my ilk ganged together at a university each semester; so I know these folk do exist.

so, this 'foolishness' of McCormick, IMO/E, could have been prevented by his father teaching him, along the way. McCormick's father chose not to do that, and it shows - in a very violent and bloody fashion.

Nothing to what extent?? Sneaking into a girls house and hiding under her bed?? Nothing but a harmless teenage prank. I'd be willing to bet you've done a lot worse.

I know kids with extremely strict parents who are doing time in jail for a whole array of crimes. What's the point there?

Honestly, people baying for the blood of this child are the real evidence of moral decay. It's regression to the type of frontier justice that is no longer acceptable in modern times. It's positively myopic, mean-spirited, selfish and ignorant. Gross.

The place is not insane. That phenomenon is limited to a certain circle of members. A growing and active circle for sure but I think there's still a good bit of sanity around here.

The sanity seems to be overwhelmed by the insanity, though. And the posts like the one I quoted just do not make me want to participate in most of these discussions anymore.

I've seen some pretty ridiculous ####### be defended on here. Kids being killed for their music being too loud, for egging a car or TPing a house, for being in the wrong place at the wrong time, now for being over at their girlfriend's house. People being shot and killed because they were texting during a movie preview.

And there are people who SUPPORT these things happening. Who justify them. Who defend the shooter.

The most ridiculous, senseless violence and there is a group of people who will rush to the defense of the murderers.

I'd rather be ignorant that these kind of opinions exist than actually attempt to converse with the people who hold them.
