IV is based off of when the DS-261 is submitted and accepted. It's taking 2-3 weeks minimum right now for the IV invoice after the DS-261 is submitted. The only time these two fees are invoiced at the same time is if you have a lawyer attached to the case.

I paid the $88 fee and then I was allowed to move on to the Affidavit of Support phase. My wife (waiting in Japan) completed her DS-261 and submitted it online. I called the NVC today and talked to them about it. Usually the 261Form takes about 10 business days to process and then they will send an invoice to pay $230US and upon paying that fee, we will be moved on to the 260Form. However, I was told they were running behind on that 10 day rate and he didn't tell me how far behind they were. I see someone here wrote 3 weeks...that could be. So we wait now. 261 Submitted online and when we get the invoice to pay, we will pay and move on to 260.

Yes that is correct. DS 261 (5-10 days), AOS fee (3-5 days), send in supporting AOS documents during this time (3-4 days to process documents), IV fee (3-5 days), send in supporting documents (military records, birth certificates, police records, etc. - 2-4 days to process documents) then DS 260 will be opened up to be completed.

I'm on the same boat. DS-261 was submitted on March 19th, AOS fee at the same day, it has paid status already....but IV is not available (18 days since submitting DS-261)....And it so hard to see that a lot of people get it available so soon...

Your DS-261 has only been at NVC for 12 business days if they were not closed for any reason.

Don't count weekends at the NVC. They do not work on weekends.

You may receive emails or the fees might become available on a weekend. That doesn't mean anyone is working. I'd like to see the post and the proof that the NVC works weekends. Until then I'll continue to believe they don't as they tell people to wait 30 business days, which is M-F.

You can always inquire on Monday if the DS-261 has been accepted. :)

My IV bill became available on Thurs and I could do the DS-260 on a Sunday so don't stop checking CEAC on weekends, just know that if it shows up it's not because someone is working, it's just delayed. That was a year ago tho. Wow.....

And how many working days you were waiting since DS-261 submitting time?

Last year? four.

NVC is much slower this year.

I made it through, from case number to case complete in 26 days I think (according to Saylin's spread sheet.) It would have been faster but it took 2 weeks for my EP to be accepted and my husband didn't have the AOS package ready until after I'd submitted my IV package. EP at the time, made Canada significantly faster, but right now it seems like it makes it just cheaper. China has always be faster for EP vs traditional.

We had a whole different set of issues last year (those poor Atlanta people). But at least you're in the home stretch. Chin up!
