Hello everyone! I have a question... My first name is Jennifer but all my friends call me "Bam". I use "Bam" everywhere I go, and that is what I have in most of my receipts. Will this be a problem? There's no legal name change or anything, it's just the name I go by. Some of my friends don't even know that my name is Jennifer.

Official paperwork, like birth certificates and passports will have Jennifer. I don't see what you are worried about. :)

Use it only if it's official: i.e. birth certificate, passport and the likes.

If it's not official, don't worry about it.

Well, I am thinking what I might do... Your legal documents have "Jennifer" and your receipts have Bam on them?

Then, apparently, they don't have any value as evidence, right?

I would ask a couple of family or friends to certify your nickname in a letter that you enclose with the petition or whatever. Say in it something

like " I have been known Jennifer so-and-so as Bam, that has been her nickname since forever. Name, date and contact information."
