Hi

I filed my 1-765, 1-485 back on August 6, 2006/ reciept notice August 14th and its now January and still i have not had biometrics. Im sure this happens to alot to other people, im just curious.

I had to change my address on August 21, 2006 by calling the service center and also filing AR-11. The receipt for the change of address only had the 1-485 case on it, so i called to call center and they advised to wait until i recieved another notice stating that they had also changed my address for the 1-765-she said it was definately on its way (the reason she said this is because i had reciept numbers for these change of address given to me by the call center-thus she beleived it had been already done). By december 1 still no letter, so i called the call center to change the address again for the I-765.

I now have my congress rep involved, and so far my 1-485, 1-824 have been transfered to California early in December 2006.

But, still no word on my I-765. The local congress rep is now trying to work on finding out whats holding up my I-765, we have a feeling it may have been the address muck up (that the service center did!!). But i guess its anyone's guess.

I called the call center today to no avail of course....i thought maybe i could schedule an infopass apointment, but she said i needed to wait 45 days until the last change of address took place until i can do anything about it.

Does anyone have any ideas on whats going on?

Thanks.

We filed my husband's first I-765 in July of 2006. Never heard a word until they denied it in October. Filed another, (after we had filed 485) in october. Got 2 biometrics appointments within a month. Received green card mid November. Never did hear back on second I-765. I think it is just a ploy to get more money out of you. The green card may be all you get.

Just keep working with your congressman I'd say, sorry your EAD has been lost in the cracks or something! One other question, did you send in the I-865 along with your AR-11? You didn't mention it so I just wanted to check that you had.

Hi

No i never filed I-865...i never heard of this form. I contacted the call center to change address and also filed the AR-11, it didnt say anywhere i read that my husband needed to file this form. Should i get him to file this ASAP? How would this affect my case? Yeah, im definately working with my congresswoman, her reps have been very helpful.

Well, if you have filed an I-864 and move then you are required to file an I-865, which is a sponsors notice of change of address. You're supposed to file it within 30 days of changing your address. Here's the link: http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-865.pdf

I dunno what if any penalties there will be for not filing it in time but I wouldn't recommend not filing it and hoping they don't notice cause that might be even worse than filing late. If you aren't too far away from your local office I would definitely do an infopass. I mean, technically you did that change of address in August and never got word on it so I would think you should be able to go to infopass. The 1800 number is usually useless and it seems people often get more informative answers when they actually do infopass, so I would do that if you are able to. Hopefully though since your AOS was transferred to CSC you'll get a quick greencard approval, a lot do (although we filed about the same time as you and were transferred to CSC at the beginning of October and still aren't approved).

I applied for AOS whilst living in OKC, i filed the I-864 and AR-11 and i called the Service Center. I found out after we had moved that we had an biometrics in OKC that we had missed.... i went to Philly without an appointment and explained that i had missed the OKC biometrics and they did it there and then. I think thats why its taking a while for the AP and EAD.

I am nearing 90 days without EAD or AP.. i think they are looking at petitions in September, so i shall wait.
