Which visa for wife's oldest daughter?

The wife and 2 daughters are here and everything is fine, just waiting on AOS.

She still has an older daughter back in Colombia, she was not included on the original k-1 visa application.

The oldest is 19 and has a 1 year old, she is still finishing up school in Colombia.

The wife would like to begin the process of bringing her to the States to live next year. But I don't think she would be eligble under the inital visa process we went through.

Then oldest was 18 when we submitted the original fiancee visa application.

The question now is - under what type of visa could she move here? What about the baby? No problem getting the father to sign off.

What are the chances of a19 year old single mother with a baby being granted a visa to live in the US, how much help is that her mother and sisters are already here, how much does the baby complicate things?

You cannot file for the 19 years old stepdaughter since you married mom after her 18th birthdate.

Your wife can file for her daughter. Her granddaughter is included in the petition for the daughter.

File today because the case will be an F2a case until the daughter turns 21 when it turns into an F2b case.

It's 2-3 years for an F2a. So, if daughter turns 21 and CSPA does not help, then it's 7 years when it becomes an F2b case.

She needs to be a Permanent Resident.

My wife is still waiting for her AOS, which we hope to have sometime this year, we applied for it in January, can she do the F2a now for the daughter or does she have to wait for the AOS to be approved?

She needs a green card to file.

Not the visa type, just the wait period.

If she needs a green card, that is probably at east 1 year away, at that point the daughter will be about 20, my undestanding is that F2a is good until the kid is 21, if she turns 21 during the process would we have to change the visa type?

Visa type does not change.

Family preference category changes from F2a to F2b when she turns 21. CSPA may allow her to retain the F2a category after age 21, but there is no way to plan for this or guess if it will help.

File ASAP.

Going to be pushing it for CSPA to kick in.
