Only those who have not paid yet their fees like AOS and IV fees will be charged as per the new price schedule. Anyone who has case complete will not be subject to retroactive measures. Unless if your Affidavit of Support expires therefore you will have to pas more.

I actually suspect NVC holding on lots of cases and keeping applicants from actually paying IV and ASO fees so they can charge more. I guess right after September 12th they will unlock applicants cases and resume with processing.

AOS takes one year to expire. I believe it expires on the first anniversary of the date it was signed by your sponsor.

According to what I read it if your interview is after dec 12 I believe, you have to pay the difference

My sister's case has already been forwarded to Us Embassy.. she just cannot have her visa bcoz of retrogression. I hope that this fee increase will not affect her... Honestly, We are very patient to wait.. and what's hurting a lot are the fees. Like her medical exam that she has to repeat(expires oct) and have to pay again(new fee). This is frustrating.. really...

Totally agree with you. I am in the same case too, I will have to redo my medicals and most likely provide new police certificate. They seem to have no considerations whatsoever to people already suffering from long separation with loved ones but you also have to bear the financial burden because DoS and US Embassies cannot coordinate their actions to avoid additional delay and fees. I also believe it is unfair to make people go through interviews days before retrogression after years of waiting and tell them coupe of days later that US Embassy cannot issue visa because there is no more visas. This is simply inhumane!!!
