My visa status is currently that of a E2 dependent (my father has a E2 visa), and I am a citizen of Japan.

Normally, a E2 dependent cannot work in the US for compensation.

However, I have a short job offer in Brazil, via a company based in the United States.

Since the entire duration of the job in in Brazil, could I get compensated from the company in the US? If not, what about from a Brazilian subsidiary?

Even if there are no ways to get pay/wages, would I be eligible for a reimbursement of airfare/lodging fees under my status?

Thank you.

A child of an E2 visa holder can't apply for Employment Authorization and without employment authorization you can't perform any work that would normally be paid even if you aren't paid so that definitely rules out compensation by other means. Things get a bit murky when you start looking into being paid by a foreign subsidiary and my initial thoughts are that you would need to be paid in their local currency and have a residence/domicile there.
