Simple man looking for simple answer regarding AOS/Household Sponsor

First of all, how you all doing? It's been a long time since I visited VisaJourney. Most people might not recognized me but I was your resident angry boy up in this biotch. Anyways, let's not tell tales of olde tymes. Here's my situation and questions.

My sisters makes only $5,000 per year. I make $1,000,000,000* a year. We live in the same house. She's going to bring her husband to America. What affidavit of support form does she file? What form do I file? My understanding is that she files I864 and I file I864A. Correct?

As her household member, you file the I-864a.

However, USCIS may want you to be a Joint Sponsor instead of a household member. In that case, you would need to file your own I-864.

Since you make $1,000,000/year, you do not need to combine income with your sister, so you may as well just file as a Joint Sponsor with the I-864.

The I-864A is for household members to combine their income. It is most often used in a husband and wife joint sponsor duo as most couples tend to file their taxes jointly.

Because you make more than enough, you should simply file an I-864 and she should file an I-864.

What is 1864A for then?

It' used when needing to combine income to qualify or when the sponsor files taxes jointly with their spouse. The keyword is "combine". By definition, people married filing jointly, combine. Brother earning enough on his own, does not combine income with sister.

On part six of the I864, do you need to list the join sponsor?

And where on I864 do you indicate that you are using a joint sponsor?

And if join sponsor can cover all the amount, does the petitioner need to show any of the part time earning, etc?

No, nowhere and yes, the petitioner always completes and signs an I-864.

The enlarged line above is incorrect. Also, in an immigrant visa case USCIS never evaluates or has any "want" regarding the affidavit of support. It is submitted to a branch of Dept. of State.

There is no "may want" either way. The above described situation does not require combining income and their is no couple filing a joint tax return, SO, there IS NO I-864a, NEVER in this situation.
