Dear All,

So, I will try to keep this short.

My fiancé and I had the K1 visa interview on February 24 in the Dominican Republic Consulate and thankfully, it was approved.

The CO had us pay the DOMEX for courier services and we opted to pick up the visa at their location. It's been a little over two

weeks and my fiancé has not received the visa. I check our status at the CEAC website numerous times a day, please see the

following changes up to date since the interview...

Feb 25, 2014 - CEAC status said "Administrative Processing"

March 6, 2014 - CEAC status changed to "Ready" (your case is open...)

March 11, 2014 - CEAC status changed to "Ready" (your case is open...)

Our CEAC case status changed to "Ready (your case is open...) twice. I called the embassy earlier

this week and they had advised that our case is approved and all and that they are waiting for the visa to be issued "from

the states." I don't get it; i thought everything was handled at the embassy...

Could someone please provide me with an insight of what might be going on with our case...

I am getting a little frustrated with the whole back and forth process...

I appreciate the comments ... Thank you!

Yes, the embassy handle the process. But, I think all decisions is made from Washington - The US Department of State-. You're not the first person has an experience ever like this. There was other user who got answered from the US embassy that is similar to yours.

I had my interview three days ago. My status had been under administrative processing for three days, which really concerned me. This morning, it changed to "Issued".

I think as long as you are approved at the interview, you are fine. Some embassies in certain countries have longer processing time because of security check and the large numbers of visa applicants.
