I am lucky as I travel to the UK for business, am there now and have had bacon, sausages, chip shop chips and an Indian (all in moderation). All the bad things I know but I just have to while I am here. Do I miss any American food, nope not one bit.

I envy you. I can't wait to go back to the UK to visit. I'd love to get a job here which would let me travel to the UK regularly. Mmm, all the Walkers prawn cocktail crisps I could eat. <3

There's an American diner on the Exeter - London road called Route 303 which I'm itching to check out. American style food in the UK often fails but this place has pretty good reviews.

Damian! Your recommendation for Jack Stack... we went for our pre-nuptial meal with my father in law, and HOLY COW, that's some good food. Could barely move after - I had the burnt ends and I genuinely can't wait to get back there!!

Thanks sir - we'll be visiting again!

Now I'm out here I don't really miss British food as much as I thought I would... I've even had fish and chips, and while not as good as back home, certainly it was good enough. The waitress even brought me vinegar before I'd even asked - not her first British customer, I'd wager! (Fish and chips without vinegar is all kinds of wrong, surely something we can all agree on?)

Looking forward to this place opening roughly next week:

Going back to the original title of this thread, I love the tex mex and BBQ here in Texas. I was able to find a great taco place in London it didn't have the depth of the menu's to be found here. I also miss a really good bagel and bialys which are only to be found in NY, along with matzo ball soup, neither of which London ever really delivered well on. (Plain and seeded bagels yes, but my favourite is cinnamon raisin)

Hence why I'm looking forward to Brutopia opening. Not sure which style they're going for but I think it's Texas style given they have a smoker and are intending to use rubs by the looks of the pictures. Plus beer brewed on the premises.

As a veggie, there is little I would miss if I went back to the UK.

As we live in Illinois, I would miss proper deep pan pizza. And I love Bloomin' Onion at Outback. But my waistline isn't so keen. 'Let's take a vegetable, open it out, coat it in batter and deep fry it'.

I was gonna say, why would you eat at an American diner when going back to England? Then I saw your timeline and realized you're not in the US yet :P. Coast to Coast is a really good American diner. I'd get most of the UK food in I can before you move! I had tried to wean myself off Ribena in the last 3 months before leaving. I wish I hadn't now, but meh :P. I still need to try out this place;

Not sure how British it will be, but worth a shot. XD
