I absolutely love Reeses for some bizarre reason, I know you can get the butter cups and pieces in the UK but the choice in the US is awesome.

I also love the easy availability of mexican food, have yet to try taco bell but I do like Chipotle. Also I had my first American burger that actually tasted of proper beef yesterday so things are improving :)

Damn, I'd miss a lot of food from the US if I moved back to the UK. Buffalo wings (although I've eaten so much of those I'm sorta burnt out atm). Buffalo wings with ranch dressing is awesome. Ranch dressing. I would definitely miss the seafood here. I love Red Lobster and various crab shacks and restaurants around here. The lobster and shrimp are delicious. I remember I tried to get shrimp in the UK once and it was disgusting fried ####### that tasted awful.

Chilli cheese fries, loaded fries, pretty much all the food that has so much different awesome stuff on it. Taco Bell definitely. We tried Chipotle when we visited Arizona, it was delicious but HUGE. It stuffed me to the point where I couldn't eat anymore, and we had enough to take home for my hubby to eat for breakfast the next day and stuff him up too. I'd miss nachos too. Our favourite is sort of remixing the nacho cheese Taco Bell tacos, and using Doritos Nacho Cheese, covering it in beef, cheese, guacamole, salsa, sour cream, etc. It was yummy. Native New Yorker is also really good. They had so many different types of food and pizza with so much stuff on. I'd really miss the wings too. I love how you can get tons of wings at a lot of restaurants and pick different flavours for different amounts. At Buffalo Wild Wings, our server even let us taste the wing sauces before we chose.

So to sum up, I'd miss a LOT. Mostly all the different types of food with so much good stuff on top of it. It's not like a cheese and tomato pizza.. it's a cheese and tomato pizza with hot sauce, buffalo chicken, herbs and all sorts on it. Mmmm. I would also greatly miss the service at restaurants here and the expectation that you are going to take it home. Much better value for money. My hubs said when he was in England, he missed ranch dressing, buffalo sauce, the variety of salads in the US, and many other things. I remember when we went to a Harvester in the UK and a local pub called The Manor and both times he wanted to take his left overs home. Harvester do take outs so I managed to ninja a box next to the drink fountain. At The Manor, I told him he had to finish both his meals (he had 2 meals, true American, made me so proud wink.png ) because a little pub like that wouldn't have take out boxes.

Speaking of drink fountains.. UNLIMITED REFILLS.... =D

P.S, you can get decent burgers in the UK, but you have to go to an American restaurant/diner to get them. We had a couple of them in Leicester. Ed's Easy Diner was one, they had good burgers and chilli dogs too. Another was a very swanky American restaurant called Coast to Coast. Had loads of American things in there and had NFL stuff, and tons of very American menu options. It was very popular though and almost always had a 30 minute wait time.

"armadillo eggs" You take jalepeno peppers and cut them in half, stuff them with cream cheese and wrap them in bacon. These used to be our sunday football game day treat but now it has grown as a normal weekend treat. I used to love Wendy's hamburgers until Shawn took me to What-a-burger. I am ruined. Panera is a new thing I have gotten into but living in a college town there are alot of local places that I would miss.

Can I just give a +1 to the almighty Red Robin? I even have a loyalty card, and I'm not even in the US yet!!

The burgers in the US are so, so far ahead of their British counterparts it makes me hungry just thinking about them...

I've found Red Robin to be acceptable, but not spectacular. There's probably a local place in most areas that will blow them out of the water, just takes a little searching to find it.

You know you've gotten used to quality burgers when Red Robin is only classified as "acceptable." ;-)

The thing I love about that place is the whole "bottomless fries" deal. I mean, let's face it, you can shove unlimited salad up your #######. But unrestricted chips? Gotta love that!

Bottomless fries gets a big thumbs up from me too. I don't doubt there are better burgers, I've even eaten them, but I still really like the place!

bottomless fries are becoming a thing now.

TGIFridays has started it as well.

I went to Luxe over the weekend, by the by. Apart from the fact that it took the waitress 20 mins to come and collect the check, it was pretty damned good.

Unfortunately, the local Mexican restaurant here in Cranston closed last year. It was awesome.. but it was clear it was dying as there were only 2-3 tables filled (including us). Still trying to find a replacement that doesn't really involve us having to go into Providence itself.

The service can be slow at times. The food usually makes up for it though.

Glad you enjoyed it. I always recommend people head that way if they come to the area.

I will tap into my RI network for you. No more Taco Bell!

Oh, GOD yes!! Can you imagine EVER eating a lame, frozen patty EVER again!!???

I live in the Kansas City area - where BBQ is king. Yep, that'd sure be missed.

And where I'm from "Septic Tank" = "Yank." Not a member of any other forums anywhere. Facebook and VJ. That's it.

When I finally get over there, I'm looking forward to some KC Gates & Arthur Bryant's BBQ again! Been a long time...nothing close over here...now I'm hungry just thinking about it...

I also miss velveeta. This is awful, I know, but when you want a quick meal, 'double Gloucester & mac' just doesn't cut it...AND thanks to the cheesecake factory, I haven't eaten cheesecake in the UK for 7 years. There is just no point. At least my arteries are somewhat the healthier?!?!?! :-)
