You see a lot of posts on the regional forums (understandably) lamenting the "passing" of delicacies from the homeland, but what have you found stateside that, were you to return home full-time one day, you couldn't live without?

There's a few things I'd hanker for, but the one standout? Ranch dressing. Definitely ranch dressing. I can't eat pizza without it anymore. Seriously.

Try french fries with Ranch dressing, and melted cheese and bacon on top.

Them's "Loaded Fries" you're talking about. To be found in any sports bar worth its salt. And absolutely MIND-BLOWING! But, tbf, this particular delicacy is better served with sour cream, imho.

To also answer the original post, if I had to move to England I'd miss being able to get a good burger. Seems there's not one in the entire country.

I live in the Kansas City area - where BBQ is king. Yep, that'd sure be missed.

And where I'm from "Septic Tank" = "Yank." Not a member of any other forums anywhere. Facebook and VJ. That's it.

Septic tank = yank is how I know it too

Just only heard it used on one other forum before, one that's not as polite and friendly as this one!

If it were me.. I'd miss four things.

1) The eggrolls at Eggroll Cafe. Eggrolls with cheeseburger in them? Buffalo Chicken? Yum.

2) The Katsu Curry at Ebisu. You can probably get that at Wagamama but it just wouldn't be the same.

3) Taco Bell. The missus and I have made it a point to have it when she comes home from work on a Wednesday night. Taco Wednesday, clearly.

4) Red Robin. Those burgers are the shiznit.

"What's yours is mine!"

That is just about everything I can't stand about food here, that lot and Pizza, I could quite happily never eat pizza again. I struggle to find much to eat on most menus here, I try and avoid fried stuff and food with crappy cheese melted on it. So by and large there is not much I eat off most menus. One good thing though if you do have a burger at least you can get it med rare and not have to have it well done.

Burger topped with fried mozzarella, mushrooms, lettuce, tomato, and bacon, and fries with cheese, bacon, and sour cream.

Stop by http://www.luxeburgerbar.com/ if you ever go to Providence, Rhode Island.

See, THAT's American, right there. And I guess you either love it or hate it. And I love it!!!!!!!!! You know what else I'd miss? Wings. Wings and ranch dressing. I hear places at home do them nowadays but I bet they're #######.

As an aside to this thread, you know what the first thing I'll probably do is when I eventually do go home for an extended period? Find the nearest American themed bar and pi$$ & moan about its (lack of) authenticity!! LOL @ sad sack me!

That's like the greatest idea ever. I must do this.

That's in my neck of the woods. I might have to go there.

It's worth a trip. Park at the Providence Place Mall and just walk there. Go to the corner where the CVS is and go diagonally across the street, when you get to the small bridge go down the stairs instead of crossing it, and it'll be right there on your right when you get to the bottom of them.
